Has any one ever put an interstate tank on a standard! I have purchased a new tank for my interstate and want to paint my old one and put it on my Standard for which I have also purchased hard bags for.
Wondering what issues I might have before I get started.
Thanks Guys

Seat fit.  Can't say what brands will have problems.  With Ultimate seat, the nose must be higher/retracted a bit unless it's made to fit the IS tank.  For my Russell seat - I informed the company of the tank - I assume they will handle it.  Don't have the seat yet.  Velocity Stacks - you will need to shim the tank up a bit. I modified the latch on my Ultimate Big Boy due to these issues.  Of course you already have the sending unit cover.  Other than that - I can't think of anything else I addressed.

I'm thinking of leaving the sending unit in and getting with Dakota digital to get a gauge that will work with it. They have lots of bike stuff out there too. Thanks for your reply Sir

The gas gauge will have to be programmable, the sending unit works backwards from the normal industry settings.  Full= zero ohms, empty= 90 ohms.

It will fit just fine other than the above mentioned velocity stacks.
I had the stock seat and it fit perfect, and I now have a ultimate big boy and the nose of the seat gets pushed up slightly, (about 3/4" to an inch) but not an issue with fit, form, or function.

My 2001 standard has the stock seat and an interstate tank with pingel petcock, no problem. However, no sending unit or velocity stacks, so I can't speak to those...

Thanks Guys I am also adding a Woodys Fairing with audio. I am excited to get this party started. going to look like a rat rod first as the fairing is new black gel coat, the hard bags I purchased are Blue and silver, my bike is now yellow and black and the interstate tank off my IS. is green and silver. I want to fit it all up and then remove for paint. House of Kolors candy tangeglow orange
