After doing a search on adjusting headlights on my IS and looking at the manual, I did find there is two knobs above the lights and  two screw/bolts under them.   Knobs at the top suppose to do the vertical and screw/bolt do the horizontal.

I do have a questions on adjusting the lights, which way does one turn them?   Clockwise/counterclockwise.   AND does each knob/screw actually adjust the light on its side.  From the parts view the head light piece looks like it is one solid unit.

Not being a smart ass, but I would shine the lights on a bright surface in the dark and then turn the adjusters to see which way the filament wanders. I'm sure somebody will have the exact answer.  Smiley

the knobs adjust your headlight up and down.
the screws, sideways.
the only thing that moves is the refractor assembly inside the light. the whole shell does not move.
if i remember correctly the knobs will adjust the light up by going clockwise.
best way to adjust them evenly is wait till dark and adjust them with them shining on a garage or house wall.

Thanks for the reply.  I don't usually ride at night, but like to shine my brights (have headlight mod) at on coming traffic on the Hwy.  Need to play with them to see it I am doing pointing in the right direction.

Do I understand you want to adjust your headlamps to shine your brights into the oncoming traffic ? Doesnt seem like a good idea to me. coolsmiley

Naw, Just want to make sure the brights are pointed in the right direction so folks can see the flashing (head light mod) lights and my Valk.  Right now not sure where they are pointed, so need to play with the adjustment.

You can easily see them working in the reflection from street signs as you approach.

Wanting extra oomph against oncoming traffic is juvenile and dangerous.

Not juvenile to want to make sure the lights are pointed in the right directions.  If they are pointed more into the on coming lane than they should be, then they need to be adjusted.  OR if they are pointed more to the right then also need to adjusted.   I just wanted to know which direction the knobs/screws need to be turned to adjust them.

And yes, I can see the flashing on the road signs.

I just got our IS Hack on the road, putting about 300 miles on it.  Headlights needed adjustment, so last Sat night took it to a deserted road about 1000 pm.  Parked the bike, played with the up/down adjusters, got it dialed in, and headed home.  About 3 miles from home on our dirt road  driveway, POOF.  No headlights.  Pitch dark.  WTF?

Turned the switch for my aux driving lights (always nice to have a Plan B...), and pulled into the house a bit perplexed.  Checked it out the next morning, and the headlight fuse was popped.  Standard fuse, correct amperage.  I am guessing that in adjusting the internal reflector, a piece of something (???) shorted out, taking out the fuse.

Have put another 400 miles on it since - no problems.  Weird stuff.
