Hopefully, we'll get some September pics from you VRCC-ers as the temps drop down into the mid-90's making riding almost tolerable for more than 30 minutes at a time.  Just think, Fall will be in the air in only another six weeks or so!

I'll start things off with a Labor Day weekend pic taken close to home…

This is the old Driftwood store located on FM 150 not far from my house.  I've ridden/driven by here hundreds (if not thousands) of times over the years, but have never bothered to stop for a picture.  There is no store there any more, but there is a church across the road, a cemetery and small community center where I go to vote.  Driftwood does have a post office that sits behind the store.  The Post office is only open 'til noon during the week and not at all on Saturdays.

Just for fun, I took another angle and then played with the pic a little bit…

So, where are your September pics?

Let's see 'em!

(FYI, these pics were taken with my iPhone after a great morning ride through the Hill Country…breakfast in Blanco, cruising over to Luckenbach, then Sisterdale, Kendalia, and a little water break along the Devil's Backbone, then over to Wimberley before heading back to the house…just another day in the hood!)

Hey Charlie...great pics.  Wish I coulda joined you.  We have been away since April, so no Valk riding for me in a while.  Got a little maintenance to do on her then I will be join up with you.  Did get some riding in while away.  Picked up a 06 Goldwing a couple years ago in CO after the folks passed.  My brother knows that country pretty good being that is where he lives, so got to see some pretty nice scenery the past couple summers while there.

Good to hear from you John!  We'll see you out sharing the wind soon back here in the Hill Country…maybe out near places like the rest area on the Devil''s Backbone near Camp El Rancho Cima!

Things in Texas just somehow seem bigger…

Plenty of cattle guard crossings here in the Central Texas Hill Country.  This one is on Old Cypress Mill Road just north of Johnson City…
