I don't over abuse the filler tube, but I fill it up pretty good... If I didn't have brain fade, I wouldn't have run it out, so I don't know when the blinking started. Riding to work from Toccoa is a pretty nice ride, that's what I remember thinking about this morning... I generally see the blinking start around 180 or so... I like reserve. Hard to run out of gas unless you forget to turn it back to "on" when you fill up... this fuel injected bike just runs slap out if you let it... -Mike

Almost all fuel injected motorcycles are self priming. So if you actually run out of gas, simply cycle the key a few times without starting it. Let the pump prime, turn it off, back on.

I noticed the blinker right away when I got on the bike after work. Then I stared at the trip-a odometer dumbfoundedly... two-hundred-and-what? There's a gas station right outside the research park, uphill all the way. The bike started sputtering right away, so I started thinking about bringing gas to the bike but the bike went a real respectable distance at very low rpm. Then it sputtered out. I pushed it the rest of the way, a barely uphill straightaway, resting at the entrance to the research park. When I was ready to push across the somewhat busy street, I went to the middle, and then into the gas station. I filled it up and it started right way with one button push.
It felt real good to be moving again, as the sweat evaporated...

Well thanks to your brain fade we now have the low fuel benchmark, that is if we notice at some point and save ourselves. I sure hope you covered up anything that said Honda wile in push mode.

You should be able to do better - my best is 220 miles on 5. My worst is (edit) 207 miles on 5.4, which is also my record for most quantity so far.

You should be able to do better - my best is 220 miles on 5. My worst is 194 miles on 5.2, which is also my record for most quantity so far. 6.24 is how much I put in the empty tank. Who knows how hard I punished the filler tube at the last fill up in Cherokee... people were coming over to see Chewie and we were all talking and laughing while I was filling... -Mike

I get at least 200 miles with at least 1 solid bar still showing, many times 2 bars still showing. My new bike shopping list had "170 mile range @80 MPH constant", and I'm doing much better than that, so I'm thrilled.

Interstate and parkways, mostly; my favorite roads are rural 2-lane state roads / highways but I haven't been doing those much lately, too much to do with places to go.

I just turned over 10,500 on my 2014,and havent run it out or even had the blinker on and by my calculator, as long as im not hot rodding,i am getting 47+ MPG at best and 45 at worst......never have put more than 5.4 gallons in at any fill up. the people I ride with never go bone dry... we always stop at about the 200 mile mark or before on any ride or trip, just to get off and clear your head, if you know what I mean, Going to Madison Ind. in 9 days.....cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!
