Had a slight scare last night ON A BIKE tickedoff

I picked up Mikes 03 Black Valkyrie as he cannot ride for some time. I have been starting and running it in the garage bi-weekly for him and she has been sputtering/missing from the right pipe but not when the enrichers are on during start. So I decided to take the bike home and start riding it. Nice night last night and I was running slow and she started to feel more alive as I went along. More and more I noticed her getting better so I now am in front of the entrance to my subdivision and thought, she needs more time out so I went on and turned on some of the loneliest sections of 41 where some areas the speed limits are 65 and that is between 275 and Ruskin. The night was so black that the darkness and my headlight was it. Route 41 here is a four lane road divided by a wide grass median. No one behind me I pick up the speed and find myself at 120 on the clock and now she is fully alive the spiders all gone and fire in full on all six, this feels great!! I’m in the left lane and now I am seeing headlights and why are they coming straight at me in my lane? Moving over to the far right part of the right lane motoring down to about 40, I am now waving at this car and I think the driver realized why someone on a bike was waving as the darted across the median and moving on going the right way.  I ramped myself back to warp 3 and miss 03 is feeling the way she should. Mike is definitely getting better on what I feel is all fronts and his work allows him to write code from home about 20 hours a week and gaining more hours little by little. His work place is being SO awesome! His eyes light up when he clearly says he will ride again, for now he is on a heart x-plant list and I will list his 03 after I do a good detailing. I would guess a trike is a bit down the road for him. She has 13,000 something miles on the ODO. I totally look forward to riding with my friend of 25 years again one day.  We also did dirt bikes at one time.

Thanks for the update on Mike. I have never met the gentleman but he is lucky to have such a good friend Jerry. Glad the near miss turned out all right. Some people are just stupid...or distracted. Good story!  cooldude

120 uhh ???

I recall, about a week ago, someone telling me we don't need to be going that fast  Grin

I was reading your post and waiting to hear that a critter had crossed paths, one of the reasons I don't like to ride back roads at night.

Thanks for the update on Mike's health, it will be great when you both get to ride again  cooldude

Jerry thanks for the update on Mikes health. It sounds like he has a positive attitude and that surely will help with his recovery.

Take care on those back roads at night. Shocked

just an EXCELLANT FYI    angel
The 03 that I have came from my paw-in-law, who had a heart transplant 19 years ago this fall.  he just turned 71 in July.
A bit of irony here is the 31 year old donor was killed on a motorcycle.

So only go 120 once in a while , or when you want to  Grin

Do be careful Jerry!
I must admit I did bury the speedometer once on my Red & White '97. That was on Mondon Hill road many moons ago. The bike was solid but the wind gets hairy at those speeds!  Shocked

That is good to know Tony, I talked to a gentleman once that had one and he told me he was new man! And I could tell.
