my tank  came with a small dent on the upper right size of a golf ball, had it painted a couple years ago by a body shop and bubbled up few months later. took it back they fixed and now 6 months later same issue, soft bubble which I deflate with my nail to get the air out till I get it fixed. rode the bike today and can see gas seeping out of it upon acceleration, touched and smelt it and yes its gas, may be a pinhole on the edge of the original dent??? any fix or suggestions is appreciated. hate to have this happen again later. thank you all in advance

I'm not a body man, but I would think someone with old school skills of using lead could fix it right.

If there is a hole in the tank then you need to get it welded.  That would mean removing the tank and emptying it. sloshing it with something like Isopropyl and venting it then find a welder that does tanks.

Whoever repaired your tank probably drilled a hole in the dent and used a slide hammer to pull the dent out. Rather than weld it up which would take time, they just used filler over the hole.

My niece's CMX250 Rebel came with a beautiful custom paint job and the first full tank of gas put in it melted the bondo in the pencil sized hole in the side of the tank. Paint ruined, giant hole in the tank, Found one on ebay for $100 and decided not to go the clean and weld route.

You might bring it back to them and ask them to strip the spot and show you the repair they did. That is if you want to make them fix it right. Otherwise, yank the tank, clean it, weld it, and have a body shop finish it.

thank you bud, went to a professional welder shop and told me to yank it,  slosh it with soap n water real good, then fill it up to the top with water and leave it over night without a cap on then bring it to him. he then will fume it out and pressure test it and then weld that pin hole. I did just that. after he welds it I will get it repainted by the same guy at no charge.
