another dumb kickstand topic

I see a great many on this site have the same problem as i do, with the excess lean of their Valk., It seems every time I put the stand down and walk away I am waiting for the crash, of course it would not do that unless you happen to park on a graveled road and set it and have it fall over as I did and the gravel was hard packed but still allowed it to lean just enough.  I have checked the bar the stand bolts to, not bent and see no other anomaly that would cause it to allow the bike to lean so far. In looking at the stand it appears to be made of some sort of cast (hope not), and if not I think it could be heated and bent towards the ground just below the stem holding the ball that connects to the stand thus picking the bike up a bit, my stand foot points into the air at the toe and only makes contact on the heal of the foot. Has anyone attempted this and if so, what was your results?

I added a Side stand Pad from Cruiser Customizing years ago. Cost 37.95 then and helps, I don't worry about it falling anymore. I have seen cool things over the years, I remember a dragon foot with claws as a pad. Some people are talented.

As for bending I don't know, but make sure you take into consideration that if your rear tire goes flat the bike don't stand to straight.

The lean does seem excessive on my Valkrie – I measured it once it's like 24° on a flat level surface!  It's actually as much lean with the Valk kickstand on a 2 x 4 as my other bike leans on the concrete.  One thing that makes it okay is, like the gentleman said just before me, if your rear tire and your front tire happen to go flat – if that doesn't suck bad enough – your bike still wouldn't fall over the other direction . The other thing is, at least on my bike, when it's down the sidestand lower bend is actually parallel to the ground, which tells me nothing's bent-- it's how it was designed.
