I bought a set of shinko tires to save a few bucks and low and behold they ain't worth a crap... the front one went out of round in 1 month and the rear one went a month later...its like the inside of the tire got pushed over to the right side of itself... sorta like if you look down at your belly and pushed it over to one side,,makes it all lop sided...i noticed the problem when the bike started wiggling on the I state when you went over a dip or a hump,,just thought this aint right,,,,jacked it up and took a look and the tire was like i said all cady woompus,,,,anyway back to the car tire and worn out avon till i can buy a new one,,,found one on ebay but that is now in dispute,,,the guy wont contact me,,,,
in other words dont buy shinko tires,, i dont think they can handle the valks power,,,and weight,,,,

Have you saved the tires? Did you try to contact Shinko? Both tires. Wow. That must be a very rare occurrence.
What kind of air pressure were you running?

I ordered a set of Shinko's for my bikes as a spare (they take same size tires) and I only got the rear tire (as a spare) and DLP tells me that Shinko has "reworked" the front tire and it won't be shipped til later this month. I'm not sure about it, but that is what I have heard from DLP twice now (from check the status of the front tire). Which reminds me I need to call them this week to check the status again and see if I get another reason. One thing I will say is that the tread depth is about 8/32's on the Shinko and like 11/32's on Avon Venoms. So I doubt the life will be much... but that is just a guess.

Normally the tread depth on front tires is less than the rear tires. The rubber compound is different on front tires than the rears and that usually accounts for the difference. The tire manufacturers try to get the tires to wear at the same rate and wear out at the same time. All this while keeping safety and traction issues in mind. ***

I run Shinkos on my dual purpose bike. But mostly because they cost $22. I'm not surprised Shinko would have a problem with new Valk tires. Almost everyone else had big problems: original OEM - noisy, tended to fly apart Metzeler - dangerous high speed weave on some bikes Avon - tended to crack, a high speed weave on a few bikes Don't remember any problems with the early Bridgestones other than being mediocre Tires have been such a problem with this bike that a lot of us are using station wagon tires.

There will be problems with every tire Mfr at some time or another I think. I had a set of E3's that both wore out and were rough riding from day one. Shinko probably is reworking the front tire because you are getting soo much mileage out of it.....

I run shinko's on my 2008 ZX14. I needed a DOT tire that would really hook up as the OEM tire would just spin. I've been really happy with the shinko's and the price was right. Someone else said it that every company will have some % with issues, but iv'e been happy with the stinko's! Big Dave
