I've installed the Jumbo Strongs on my 2001 Standard as level and as symmetrical as I can. Used great big 1.25 inch fender washers to give lots of support to the back of the bags.

Now I want to install the U-shaped support bracket which seems to come with a lot of hardware and no instructions. I have hex round head screws, split washers, nylock nuts, and black plastic cone-shaped "washers" or whatyoumaycallums. How would a smart Valk rider use those to fasten the U-shaped bracket to the bottom of the bag?

By the way, I will need holes drilled right where my pipes are so I'll have to undo all eight side screws and remove the bags to drill the underside.

Any tips? Thanks,

Those black plastic cone-shaped washers are not for the U-shaped support bracket, rather they go over the ends of the chrome bag protectors to give a more finished look to the way the chrome bars fasten onto the bag.

My Tsukayu bags are awesome and I am reduced to answering my own questions!

I have the Tsukayu hard bags but not the jumbos. Can't help you since mine doesn't have the u-bolt you mentioned. I have owned them for 8 years and had them packed to the max and never had a problem. I think you will like them.
