About two weeks ago I was at a poker run and talking to someone about waxing my windshield and how the water and bugs are just running off. Never heard of this and did it to my truck too. WOW.. Well anyhow. Someone told me that I need to get some Purple ?? (stuff). I can't remeber what the stuff was. He told me that you can clean/shine paint, windows, Chrome, hot pipes anything on a bike and it cleans/shines it. No streaking or anything. Does anyone have an idea what this stuff is? Last weekend I took a round going to some MC stores around central NE. Nothing..

Rain-X makes a hand pump spray formulated for plastic windshields and helmet wind screams now. I bought my bottle in Walmart. It beads water just like their other formula for glass windshields.

I use Purple Power all the time for cleaning parts, just don't get on your hands without washing it off right away. It will make them peel and if you're really sensitive to stuff it might actually cause some problems. I usually will put on some rubber gloves. Get the stuff at most any major parts store like Advance Auto, O'Reilly, etc.

I have been using a product called "Krud Kutter" (Cleaner/Degreaser) with a white background on the label. It works great, easy to use, and it has never bothered my hands when cleaning with it. They also make one with a red background on the label that they advertise as (Concentrated). I have found that the white label will do anything that I want to do in the way of cleaning grease. It takes the oil and grease off the garage or shop floor like magic. Just spray it on with a spray bottle, let it sit for a few minutes and mop up the grease or oil stain with a wet mop. A job which I don't attempt very often. I know that it doesn't bother paint, however I would be hesitant about using it on a windshield..Jim

I used the Purple power to get all the grease from the bottom of my engine. I used the concentrate and mixed it 1:1 with water in a spray bottle. Let it sit for a few minutes and sprayed it off with water. Worked perfectly, bottom of engine is still shiny after a month.
