So I pulled the switch apart cleaned with steel wool  no cleaner, still not working it will start if I cross over the solder points on the back of switch. am i missing something.

Also sometimes the plastic will melt a little and deform.

It's not the switch, per say, but the springs in their holes that bind from old grease, that needs to be removed so they spring freely. This applies the upward pressure onto the plate to make contact.

i cleaned the switch , springs and connection of all the grease and put it back togeather, but I did't regrease it.
