Good read Fiddle. Many years ago I was on temp duty in Texas, (San Antonio).  I really enjoyed my tour at Xray school in Ft. Sam Houston in 1952.  I especially enjoyed the hospitality of the Texans in San Antonio.  I found myself many times walking along the river in downtown San Antonio.  Here's an old pic of an artist doing portrait work there.

 Thanks.  It's been a while since I've been in S.A. but I'd  bet you could  see the same scene as in the photo if you were on the River Walk, today.
