Has anyone here or elsewhere adapted other than a stock starter button to the Valkyrie? Going to do the starter button repair and I did price out replacement units. My dealer gets $85.00 Honda Direct Line gets $67.47 and Babbitt gets $61.17. Also going to look at that wiring harness Bon-s designed for the Valkyrie. You'd THINK that you could get MORE than 16 years and 111000 miles BEFORE chit happens!  Roll Eyes  And as ALWAYS T I A for any and all help.  cooldude RIDE SAFE

Dennis, as I recall you have an I/S. Procaliber has that entire setup for $52.39 plus shipping since it's under $100. As for changing to a different set, I adapted Harley controls to my bike quite a few years ago. It's more involved but trouble free.  cooldude

F C R.  Lips Sealed Bon-s laid hands on it Saturday and started right up and kept starting the rest of Saturday.  coolsmiley Sunday-fergitted who-laid hands n it and started up and started every time after I shut it off!  uglystupid2 Part of the joy of owning this machine-werkin on it!  2funny BUT with the help of these board members-I ain't askeered!   Lips Sealed RIDE SAFE.

Just an F Y I-FINALLY got the starter button out today took it apart and it's pristine inside. Contacts were only slightly dull and shined them up before I put it back together. NO melted plastic NO bent parts-as I said-pristine. AND my brother reminded me of an "issue" we had with my I/S back in June this year. I'll be going into the wiring in the fairing 2moro. I'm guessin as our gals age more we will face further difficulties. BUT-I M H O-it WILL be worth it!  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

The contacts won't be melting on an Interstate as there isn't the high current like the Standard and Tourer. So, the contacts were shiny. Was it well lubricated and were the brass contacts well formed and free to move up and down on their spring? All I did was flick the switch a few times and then the starter responded so it really points to the switch itself. That said, it sure can't hurt to inspect the fairing connectors otherwise.
