It's all about the kids, folks! This photo is from last year's ride, featuring the local Stars (kids in treatment and even adults that have survived their brain tumors).
The bad news - on average, 9 kids are diagnosed with a brain tumor every day. The good news - Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Ride For Kids raises more money than any non government agency to help kids thru family support and research because of riders like you.
If we can get you to the "Celebration of Life" just one time, you will be back year after year. When the kids share their personal experiences and you realize you have made such a difference in their lives - well, it puts things in a personal perspective that will put a lump in your throat and open your heart. Yes, mirrored sunglasses come in handy for sure.
To get the most out of the weekend
make our Sunday event a weekend destination. You are also invited to help with the ride as a "day of event volunteer". You will need to make one of the two volunteer training sessions. Thursday evening, Oct.1, 7:30pm at the host hotel or Saturday, Oct.3, at 10am, same location. I know Frank (Spoiler) Jenson is coming up from Houston to help out with registration again this year. Yes, you can volunteer and still do the ride with the kids.
The DFW VRCC has been the top fundraising club for our ride three of the past six years. If we can achieve that goal again this year we will have the honor of leading the ride in 2010! If you can not bring your friends, bring their money! We hope to see you soon. Only 24 days until our seventh annual DFW Ride For Kids!
Thanks for the read. The kids will thank you Sunday, October 4th! ~Jeff
