They're just for looks, sounds mostly the same... the piggies don't line up with the holes... you
have to cut the piggies to get them to fit on an Interstate...

The piggies do not line up with the holes on a Standard either, but there is no need to cut the piggies. All the mounting holes line up on the Standard. As hubcapsc stated, they are just for looks.

When I first got mine, I did not like the way the gaps between the 3 tip pipes were open to the inside because I knew this would tend to soot up the outside of the tips. I bought a can of "muffler putty" & plugged these gaps from the inside (can't see it from the outside). It's been at least 20,000 miles & the putty is still in there. Forces all the exhaust thru the tips.

I haven't notice any sooting on the outside of mine. Maybe you were running rich. Or maybe I wash my Valk more than you.
