When ever I want a quick fun ride I either head from south Reno up Geiger grade to Virginia City or up the Mt Rose highway to Lake Tahoe.  Well today I headed up to Virginia City.  I have made this ride more times than I can count.  After going up the grade to Virginia City I usually go down the back side to Carson City and then up highway 395 back to Reno.  Today after passing through Virginia City I took the truck route down the back side.  Wow, I cant believe I have never gone this way before.  It is not near as steep so the trucks can pull the grade.  But it is nothing but hairpin turns the whole way down.  What a blast.  I think I will be looking for more truck routes on my mountain rides from now on.
