I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself, the name's Steve but I usually go by Slick. I've been lurking here for a few months and have enjoyed what I've seen so well, here I am brother's(and sisters). Like some, or perhaps most here I rode as a young man, and gave it up for some thirty odd years. Well I'm not so young any longer and got bitten by the bug again a little over five years ago. I wound up with an 1800 VTX "C" model and have loved every moment of it, and her. I guess you could say that I love to ride, I've put some 47,000 miles on Wanda since I got her.

Almost from the start I yearned for more, something along the lines of a full dresser and like most went back and forth over my obvious choices, but really not really considering the Valk. Well first one friend, and than another went out and bought Valkyrie's, and the process began.

I'd search all sorts of sites in search of the "one" but had no luck finding just the right fit. Well lo and behold I accidently came across a 99 I/S in black that had me intriged- We dickered back and forth some, and he ended up accepting $6,000 for his 23,000 mile dragon, the end result is that Rhonda has joined Wanda in my garage.

Thanks for the help you have been, and I look foward to a long term relationship with the bike and you all-

It's nice having two bikes, but you may find yourself not riding the X much cept' Friday nights and such. The Valk is such a sweet long distance machine, especially the IS with all the storage and fairing and all, you got one fine deal there.

Where's the pics?!

Welcome aboard Slick.  Smiley

There is a whole instruction on posting pics at the top of the forum (one of the sticky posts).

I have the VTX 1800 and a Valk. They are both great for their respective attributes. The Valk for long rides and the twisties (not many of those in FL, I suppose). The VTX for around town.

I need to sell one of them, just can't decide which one.... I like em both.

Welcome Aboard Slick..... I too have a VTX1800 and a Valk I/S.... love em both.

If you can't get that picture thing worked out, you must first post or upload them to a photo hosting website, then link to them when you make your post.  If you have difficulties... email the pics to me and I will get em uploaded for you, and post them.

I just came off a VTX 1800 R/S.  Bought a 1998 Tourer and love it.  I would have liked to keep both, but the way the economy is right now, it wasn't in the cards, (I'm a Realtor  Shocked)

I liked the VTX, but the Valkyrie is so much more comfortable on long rides.

PAVALKER...I definitely remember seeing your avatar over on VTXOA!!! cooldude

No pics of the Valk yet, but here's the VTX I just sold.

Thanks John, I'll shoot a couple your way. Seems to be a bunch of VTXOA folks here, I feel like part of the family already-

39chevy.....

That's just about the best lookin' 1800 I think I've ever seen.....period.   cooldude

What kind of bib, seat and bags are those.  Together, they really make that bike.

Thanks!

It turned out nice, that's why it was so hard to sell it.   That's a Peacful Cruisin' tank bib (he does a NICE job), custom made Corbin seat that moved me back farther than an Ultimate Big Boy and Harley Davidson Softail Heritage saddlebags.  Lots of trial and error mounting the bags and making them fit "just right".  At first I mounted them with Ghost brackets, but they looked terrible (in my humble opinion) so me and a buddy re-made the stock Heritage brackets so they're tucked in nice and tight.

Again, thanks for the props!

Here's another pic from the side...
