I'm in the middle of putting I/S pods on my Std.  In order to transfer the driving lights and the Kury highway pegs, the scoops will need to come off the I/S crash bars that I have.  Has anyone done this and have you noticed any ill affect?  I really don't want to go out and get a different style of lights and pegs.  I've got enough $'s tied up as it is.  I pick up the pods and fairing from the painter tomorrow.

Seen it done, done it for others. Zip right off with a grinder. No ill effects.

I always wondered the purpose of these scoops. Anybody knows?

I've asked quite a few people, and the consensus is that their sole purpose is to create these sorts of conversations.

I think the original intent was to help direct the air flow to aid cooling the header pipes.

While that's a possibility, it surely doesn't move enough air to make any real difference...
