Lets face it, Honda built our bikes to last forever. Cause they will never be able to repeat the Valkyrie.

Could be a V4 on the Interstate... kinda hard to tell. Interesting observation. The old Saber had a V-65 the same as my Magna. Boy, I'd like to see them bcome back with fuel injection and a couple of other upgrades to the heads and valve train.

Great more Vtwins I want a 6 speed Wing if anyone is listening I agree grrrr I wish they just give up on that harley look alike I also waiting on a 6 speed wing with at least a 2.0L If Honda is listening please focus your efforts on Marketing how fun it is to ride 450 miles Plus I do this all the time on a single Saturday on my wing. Years ago I owned Harley's and other bikes but once I had the pleasure to go somewhere and not be beat up by the wind , as those Harley look alike bikes would be. I said to myself why in the world would someone want a bike to just blast around town? Once you experience even 200 mile rides in your neck of the woods until you can take a longer trip to me it is fantastic. You know I'm not a Harley Hater, but I can tell you this when I go on the road, I can wait till the last minute to head home, and without being a speed demon yet going with flow of the cars on a 75mph slab then passing to keep my lane clear, I run up on a ton of Harley's heading home as well. We come up on them, they all try to hang with the Valk or wing and NO GO . They are Taxed Out it seems or surely sounds like it. Abolish the TWIN IDEA HONDA MARKET TOURING

That's been my guess for awhile. The new V4 appears to be derived from the Honda V5 racing engine and designed to run on 2 cylinders for economy. Upping the VFR to 1200cc's doesn't really leave room for the ST1300 in the lineup. Makes more sense to derive two models, one "sport" and one "sport touring" from the same base. Personally, I'm sorry to see the 800cc VFR go away. Over the years it proved itself as one of the all time great motorcycles. It appears, however, that Honda has decided that (except for the 600cc supersport class) anything under a litre displacement is to be designated as some sort of "you meet the nicest people on a Honda" type of machine. As far as a two litre Valkyrie? Dream on. The market for such a bike is miniscule. I wouldn't be surprised to see a low end Gold Wing (under $20K), but frankly, if Honda could build one and make money with it, I suspect it would already have been done.

Isn't the ST1300 already a V4? Yes it is, answering my own question. Let's make it a 1600 V6! hoser

I would'nt mind seeing a low end Goldwing for under 20K if they would just lose some of that plastic. I know there are a lot Gold Wings fans here, and I admit that it is an awesome bike mechanically...but as far as looks it reminds me of the Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis of motorcycles.

I thought long and hard about making this post. The following is a strong opinion and as such is subject to a lot of other opinions.
I would so own a Wing, great bike. I had a PC 800 that was covered in Tupperware and I liked it until I knew about the Valkyrie.
But it is my goal to take the Valkyrie brand somewhere else. I draw all the graphics for the F6Rider store... I NEVER PUT HONDA ON THE SHIRT DESIGNS! Honda does not deserve the credit for making the Valkyrie. A bunch of suits decided to drop the Valkyrie (after we lost Joe Boyd). In my humble opinion when sales of the Valkyrie dropped the suits wet themselves.
With a little courage, and smart marketing Honda could have started a new following! Like us... the VRCC got it and we bought a crap load of Valkyries. They just needed some time for the rest of the world to catch up with what we knew, that being it is not about a fashion statement, (think Gucci, Couch Purses, Cartier, Harley). C'mon, who'd buy a Harley for performance, quality or best bike in a category.
Don't mean to slam Harley owners, there are some reasons for owning one like heritage, etc.
But for the motorcyclist, not the "bikers" (think guys with money trying to be a bad asses for the weekend), but true riders, who actually ride (not trailer to events) these true motorcyclists need a serious machine.
The Valkyrie motorcycle is just such a machine. Performance, ride ability, long distance capable, and speed!
Oh the hell with it, if I need to explain it, some folks will never get it... Get on your scooter and ride!!!!!
Disclaimer: All of the above is my opinion and not that of the Valkyrie Riders Cruiser Club. Having a strong opinion on a subject in America IS politically incorrect as I have been told. So in advance I'd like to apologize to anyone who may feel offended, betrayed or hurt in any manner by my above missive. It is after all what I think, although I fully know I could be wrong by others standards. My parting thought is "deal with it"

Ditto to Oz.
My only regret for buying a Valkyrie is that it takes up so much space in my garage! I honestly don’t believe there will ever be a cycle as nice as the Valkyrie, I’ve ridden quite a few other bikes and this darn thing is just the only cycle I’ve really fallen in love with! It’s just an excellent machine.

Let's make it a 1600 V6! hoser There's really not much point in making an ST bigger in CC'c, they will purr along at speeds that will get you arrested (100+) rather than ticketed and still get 45 mpg. Now a 750 ST would be a nice size. the ST will hit 85 in second gear as it is, no need to be bigger but that's the mentality nowdays anyway. Raymond

Yawn, sorry. S.O.S. Most folks here feel the same way. No use rehashing the obvious. (No dis on you, oZ)
Honda is retreating from the MC, and rightfully so with the piss poor economy. They actually got it right, on that score. Maybe they knew something we didn't before last fall? However, they started long before that, tho.
Maybe when the discretionary/leisure spending comes back, Honda will rethink it's position on MC (?).
Nah. I'm dreaming.

Can't disagree with your assessment there OZ. I may be a little more optimistic about Honda FINALLY coming to there senses & building a non V-twin big cruiser than you are but I'm not holding my breath. I agree with you about the "fashion riders", they are thick as flies in my area! You spoke of heritage, I feel that the Valkyrie is well on it's way to EARNING a heritage all it's own due to the attributes it has as a MOTORCYCLE, not company or image based. We'll see where this all leads but at least we know one thing..... As Valkyrie owners/riders we have a piece of motorcycling history that we are able to enjoy for many years to come. Even if Honda {& all the other bike makers} keep on pumping out the same old twinkie crap we're still here!

Abolish the TWIN IDEA HONDA MARKET TOURING My 07 ElectraGlide with the 96ci six-speed, which is now standard in all the HD tourers will do 75 quite nicely at a little over 2600 rpm, which is right in the sweet spot of it's power range, it's not taxed out at all. I love the Valk, but I sure do wish it had a 6th. I think H-D does a lot of listening. Say what you will, they seem to try real hard to continue to improve their bikes year after year. The 2009 touring line is a good example.

Those bikes handle a lot better than most previous models, the exception being the FXRS-SP...which IMHO wasn't "stylish" enough for the masses. Of course...Honda's large (> 70cc) displacement motorcycle sales account for a tiny fraction of its overall revenue, whereas Harley's market is almost exclusively centered around big-displacement road machines. They have to listen to their customers' requests; there really isn't any other option if they're to remain viable.
