Kim is doing good, Doc said lots of damage but knee replacement went real well. That is actually good news, explains why she had lots of pain in the knee joint. Doc said he got all the damage taken care of.  cooldude
She should be home Sunday or Monday depending on how she responds to the rehab over the next two days.

Sounds good re. the damage and repair. We'll know her rehab is successful when she can kick as high as your butt.  cooldude

Good news.  Kim be sure and to the rehab.  I was skeptical that it would do any good when I had my rotator cuff surgeries, but it really did help things strengthen and stretch as it should.

Heal fast and well, I am most interested in your surgery and recovery as I recently went on the knee replacement list. Just not ready to take the plunge, family is pushing me hard to do it so I can be more mobile and enjoy life while still young instead of waiting.
Stay the course, they have come along way with joint replacements. It won't be long and you will be back to your self and then some.

That is a good thing.

It is all about the physical therapy and it starts from the same day of the operation.

Say hi and tell her we all wish her well

She's 52 & we heard lots of "that's the youngest" comments from the staff.  Shocked
Make no mistake it hurts pretty bad but she was hurting before. We are thinking the compensation she was having to make for the bad left knee was aggravating her right leg & lower back.
Next ride she goes on you can pick her brain.  Wink

Sounds like a good plan, I agree with the good leg, back, hips and shoes take a beating compensating for the bad / injured leg. I go through left shoes like crazy. Glad she was strong and went through with it, I am not quite ready for another surgery, I have had two major reconstructions on my right knee over the years and just not ready to endure that pain again any time soon. Happy for Kim as I have heard great things about the great life gains after having knee replacement surgery. She will be much happier and you guys will be off and running again like you used to do.  Watch out I see some road trips on the bikes in the near future.

Sunday & today were pretty rough on Kim. She did her first therapy session today & it was a bit painful. Everybody says this stage of the recovery process is the worst. I must agree. She is determined to see it through.  Cool
She is sleeping like a log right now.... good drugs!  Shocked

She is tough, I saw very tough people cry like babies during knee therapy. I still have bad memories of therapy, not a happy place to go to. The pain will be worth the work in the end, glad she has good drugs as the body heals faster after after all that work then sleep. I cringe at the thought of her pain, this too shall pass. She knows this pain is temporary and the pay out is huge. Thoughts and prayers for her as she goes through this tough time.

Almost looks like they installed a zipper.   uglystupid2

Any more pictures like some from during the operation?

Hello Eddie,

Thanks for the updates. It all sounds like it's going in the right direction. Give her our regards please.

To follow up on John's thoughts, Kim most likely won't even try to kick your butt until after she's fully healed and not having to depend on you. She's much too smart to bite the hand that feeds her.  Wink Besides, I'm really sure that you are being very nice and helpful to her. Smiley
