Has anyone reamed out the petcock hole in the tank to accept a Golan Petcock with the in tank filter on it ?

If you feel it's necessary to do that to the tank in order to use a specific petcock, all

I can say is that you do not have the proper petcock for the Valkyrie. This being said,

there have been instances where, when removing the stock petcock from the tank

the filter screen has remained being stuck and forms a barrier to inserting a new petcock

assembly. The old screen needs removal.

The only way I could get the Golan petcock to fit in the tank is to remove the filter cover from it. I was going to go that way and install an inline filter. Chose to go back to the OEM petcock and (knock on wood) haven't had any issues. (Anyone interested in a once-mounted-but-never-used Golan petcock without the mesh in-tank filter?)   Cheesy 2funny crazy2

I have used the golan petcock and pingle inline filter for 3 years. No problem I replaced the original honda fuel valve after having the stated usual problems with it. It now sits with my other spares. I just made sure about downward routing of the fuel line.

If I remember correctly I did have to open up the hole in the tank a little to accept the Golan with the stock screen. It was binding to the point I felt it would tear if I didn't. I was having the tank painted so I had it rinsed throughly so using my dremel was a breeze. Didn't take much. You could go without it I suppose but I used both the screen and a micro inline filter. Interstate tank I installed on my tourer had a little rust inside and I wanted to make sure to not have any particles down stream. I like the Golan. Great product and good people to deal with.
