Hello all,
So Ive decided to added an HD batwing fairing to the Valkyrie.  I am reall happy with the way it is turning out however I have run into a couple of snags.
Does anyone know what length speedometer cable is needed to reach from the front tire to the new location on the batwing fairing.  This cable also needs to be long enough to go around the radio mounted in the fairing.
Also, I ordered a trip meter extension cable but it doesn't seem to fit. Does anyone know what type cable might work for this application.
Thanks for any insight.  I'll post pics once I figue out how.

Hook the OEM cable to the back of the speedometer head and route down towards the drive. Measure the difference and you have the length. If some one gives you a length and it is wrong , you are stuck with the parts. If I knew the length , I would tell you. There are variables. This method will give you the length you need for your application. Pre-measure the speedo cable before you install and add the extra length.

Resistance is futile; if less than 1 ohm.

I'm using an 8" extension cable on mine.  I probably could have used a 6", but I preferred a little slack to clear the radio and amp in the dash.  As for extension on the trip set, I got the HD trip set extension.  I had to drill a new hole a bit closer to the end of the cable than the stock one.  I then drilled a matching one in the trip set knob; just in front of the knurled portion of the stock Valkyrie knob for the roll pin to connect them.  I was able to use one of the existing holes in the dash for the trip set knob that was probably originally for an indicator light.  I did have to drill a hole for the cable in the left side fairing mount.  Since I didn't install the batwing, it was on it when I bought it,  I'm not sure if those were stock or not.
