Hey all. I've been checking out the forum for a few weeks learning about my new ride!
First a short intro about me. I'm 47 and started riding for the second time alittle over a year ago. I sold my bike in 1992 to get married with the understanding that I would get another when we were established. 16 years and many arguements later I reentered life on two wheels. I've always had fast bikes and cars and wanted something quick. last year I bought a 2008 atomic silver ZX14 Ninja. I love it for what it is. Fast loud and did i mention fast. I soon lowered, stretched, and geared the beast to get more out of it. I had to put a soft drag radial on to get any traction out of it. I use this to commute about 150 miles a day in good weather. I then picked up a 2003 Z1000 which is a great naked all around bike. Both bikes are not the most comfortable for more then an hour ride. I started looking for a criuiser and found the Valkyrie's. I found a 1998 with just 21k on it with thousands spent on accessaries. The bike looks and runs like new and I stole it for $5500.
I'm looking forward to finding some local Valkyrie owners and just met one right around the corner with an awesome black touring edition. I'd also like to thank everyone that has made this such a great forum!

Welcome to the board Dave!  I myself sold my cycle in 1983 ('79 Suzuki GS750E) and thought I would never get the chance to ride again.  Now I'm 9 months into ownership of my Valk and couldn't be happier.  Sounds like you know your way around a toolbox; you should have no problem with the Valk maintenance.  Good luck and happy riding!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I'm looking forward to meeting fellow VA Valk riders to set up some day trips. Whats the best way to do this?
