after an hour run on the new to me interstate 20k on the clock, temp light came on at a stop and went out in less than 30 min, next stop did it again and out after may be 20 sec and no fan came on, rode home about 40 min and parked it running to see if the fan will come on instead the dreaded light showed up again I shut off the bike only to hear this loud sound like bad bowel movement  and suddenly one of the 3 breather tubes under the bikes belly spitted out a pool of 1/4 gollon of slightly yellowish  water, grumpy adviced to check the fuses which checked out ok, then suggested to unplug the fan switch and ground the wire if fan runs the switch is bad, if it doesn't its a possible bad fan motor or wiring problems. haven't done that yet as it required removing the left rad pod. by the way over flow bottle full. any thoughts are appreciated. thank you

Grumpy's diag sounds spot on {as usual}.
Antifreeze is supposed to be neon greenish not yellow. I would say a complete flush & fresh Honda brand antifreeze is in order too.  Wink

Overflow bottle being full is normal when the bike gets hot. When it cools it should be drawn back into the radiator.

Over flow bottle still at max, grounded the fan switch , no response , took out the radiator and ordered a fan assembly

Might be wise to connect the fan direct to a battery and see if it works, would rule out a broken wire some where.

Hope you didn't pay more than $155 for it. That's from Procaliber.com with free shipping.

price on ebay  was not bad 28 for a complete fan shipped already here and getting ready to put it on tomorrow with the help of Jack.
I am just surprised this could happen t a low mileage bike, may be the fact it sat for a 3 year is a factor???

Shout out to jack for helping coming over and help install  the radiator, fan motor was the culprit, was toast, fan from ebay with 28 dollars shipped, bolted right on, and grounded with the fan switch ad wala its spinning, we filled up the rad, run it for a while thermostat kicked in, added a bit more coolant, a bit later fan kicked and off for lunch  and we had a nice chat over lunch at Clermont buffalo wings, then rode the Clermont hills for an hour or so and back. thank you also for the gift jack. thanks to all those that help with the diagnosis. blessed to be surrounded by this great group of people.

Good deal Larue.  If Grumpy gets too covered up with work he can send the overflow to you. Cheesy

You are welcome brother, I'm just paying it forward, I have gotten lots of help from this group as well.

Glad your ride is back up and running  cooldude

Nice ride on those Clermont hills, they never get old and they are the next best thing after the Brooksville roads.

FYI everyone, Larue had most of the job done by the time I got there so pretty soon he will be able to take on jobs just like Terry said  Grin Evil
