Hi everyone I have a question I took my 98 standard to my friend  he took it apart including the gas tank. To get it painted, I just put it back together but when I try to start the bike there's a lot of gas leaking from 2 hoses that go into a small bracket .  Bike won't start. thank you

The vacuum hose that goes to the petcock where does that line comes from? He disconnected it from both ends.

Well, they are drain hoses. Your petcock isn't working right, and you have one or more stuck floats in the carbs,,That's the reason the gas is running out the overflows. Or the drain screws have been opened up. There is supposed to be a vacuum hose going from the petcock to the nipple on, I think. #6 intake. You need a service manual, or some help from someone with knowledge about Valks cooldude

You'll also need to make sure you don't hydrolock the motor. There should be the answers to all your questions by going to the first page on the tech board, and using the search option. There is tons and tons of stuff, (with pictures even) to help you with this and other problems

The fuel valve (petcock) is not supposed to flow fuel from the tank to the carbs. unless engine vacuum opens the petcock valve, even with the valve in the on position. Been awhile, but the vacuum line that opens the valve goes to number six intake which is the left side rear intake. Has to be on there or the fuel should not flow.

I don't know where your fuel is leaking, but if the carbs are flooding, DO NOT CRANK THE ENGINE with the spark plugs installed or you will hydrolock and break the starter drive and have to remove the engine to repair. Others here will respond, but don't fool around with flooding carburetors.

I believe what you are looking at are the 2 hoses towards the back of the carbs and hook over a braket and just sit there. if they are they come off the air rails between 1 & 3 and 4 & 6 carbs.

GOT to replace your float needles!!! The little bitty springs are old and weak. They will allow fuel into the cylinders.
