Help mounting the Honda saddlebags

 ??? I bought a set of used Honda OEM bags with brackets. No instructions included. Has anyone mounted a set? Any help or tips would be appreciated

New Honda accessories come with little slips of paper containing
URLs that lead to the instructions.

I have instructions for some accessories, including bags, downloaded
onto my laptop - which is in the shop getting a new LCD screen.

If nobody knows the URL you need, remember to ask again next week
sometime, and I'll get you the ones from my laptop when I get it back.

Be careful when mounting the hangers to the grab bars.  The bolts that are supplied are too long.  I could have installed it myself but I just made an excuse to ride 90 miles one way to have them install them.  And in the process the bolt dug into the side of the fender and scratched it up pretty good.  Now Honda has a thing out now due to this issue and they are replacing my fender and remounting the bags.

This of course with me going back down there for them to install them again.

You are probably right. Corbin was sending out one of the bolts for the saddlebags
that was dangerously too long - the bags would have installed OK. but the bolt
would have crashed into the swingarm on compression of the shock. I noticed it
as I sat there tediously studying the instructions and trying to think about what
it was I was doing... went down and got another one from Lowes... I think another
poster here said they got a wrong bolt, too...

I'm sure I don't always do everything right, but I'd hate for my bike to
be messed up because someone else didn't do something right...

Strange, I didn't have that problem at all.  I probably would have had that problem if I didn't catch my mistake in time: I put the chromed bolts onto the joint that holds the 2 brackets together but in reality the chromed bolts are used to hold the bracket assembly to the grab handles.  Once I discovered that, everything went smoothly with no interference whatsoever.
