Our very first day on the Valk up on the BRP!

Lynchburg, Virginia

« on: September 11, 2009, 09:52:31 PM »

This is probably the best e-mail I've seen in a long, long time..

"We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great-grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt ridden, delusional, and other   bed-wetters. We hold these truths to be self evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim they require a Bill of NON-Rights."

ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth.. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.

ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful; do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.

ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes ..

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.

ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people.. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.

ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure.

ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful. (AMEN!)

ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.

ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from, English is our language.. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from! (Lastly....)

ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our country's history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief in one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH!

If you agree, share this with a friend. No, you don't have to, and nothing tragic will befall you if you don't. I just think it's about time common sense is allowed to flourish Sensible people of the  United States  speak out because if you do not, who will?

Can you please RE-write that to be a little more "PC" so as not to offend the stoopid and the liberal thinking crowd to whom the country owes a free ride to? after all...that is apparently the majority according to the last round of elections ,and under our current system, that majority rules  Embarrassed Cry

I saw someone's bumper sticker recently that had a great modification to a part of the Declaration:

"Life, Liberty, and the pusuit of all who threaten it.  -US Navy"  (Complete with a warship pictured in the background)

Apparently that was part of a Navy recruiting campaign that I never saw.  Either way, it's great.

Here's a suggestion. How about we give the "sensible people" the state of Wyoming and let them live out their fantasies there. (No offense meant to the current Wyoming residents.)

You made a mess out of the cities we let you have why would we want to give you more?

Way to go, Jeff K!!!

You left out the whole Mayor Nagin Katrina debacle.  60+ years of nanny-state, and no one had the gumption to get the heck out of dodge on their own - EVEN WITH A FLEET OF BUSES SITTING THERE.  Nope, it was W's fault.

Hey Puffs, where were all the hand-wringing libs when Iowa got flooded, or when Ike wiped out Galveston?  They probably couldn't find a perch from which complain and pontificate because too many people were busy cleaning and repairing instead of whining and waiting.

Do you live in Singapore?  You sound familiar.

How about going by states and percentage below the poverty line?

1     Louisiana     20.3     19.3     21.3
2    District of Columbia    19.9    18.4    21.5
2    Mississippi    19.9    18.9    21.0
4    New Mexico    18.6    17.1    20.1
5    West Virginia    18.5    17.3    19.7
6    Kentucky    17.4    16.0    18.9
7    Alabama    17.1    16.4    17.8
8    Texas    16.3    15.7    17.0
9    Oklahoma    16.1    14.9    17.3
10    Arkansas

hmmm, looks pretty Southern to me...wonder why that is....mayors again?

Hmm, seems my image of Nobama saying "shut up and drink the Kool Aid"  was removed.    Roll Eyes   I'm thinking it had more to do with the Hammer and Sickle in the background than the verbage though.    Oh well,,,

it will get pulled if it "mucks" up an otherwise benign thread!!....and it doesn't even have to be a picture either....just a little good-natured kidding around is enough to trigger it!!.... cooldude

Tread lightly, Stanley.  I've never been very good at taking criticism.

They get pulled because they clearly violate the Rules of the Road.  I don't think anyone who has had a post or picture pulled seriously had any doubt why.   Smiley

EDIT this post.....I was mistaken about a couple of my earlier posts being pulled.......I was asked by the person who started the thread to delete them and since that thread was similarly titled to another one that I looked at, I thought they had been pulled.....I was just coming back to this post to point that out....and apologize....I was wrong and my posts are still there....I only plan to leave them up for tonight and I'll delete them tomorrow..

As far as YOU pulling any of my pics, yes, you have.....and for good reason....no hard feelings there Willow.....seriously!!....I just can't let Scooter always have all the fun!!.... cooldude... Cheesy... Grin

City, State, % of People Below the Poverty Level...

The people of the US don't really know what poverty is.  What we call poverty is middle class for much of the world.  I've seen real poverty outside the US.  US inner city ghetto's are hell, and the residents for the most part have made them that way.  But, they are not poverty compared to most of the world.

You doubt my sincerity Raymond??.....I didn't know Willow had edited this post until I came back here on my OWN to correct something that I was dead wrong about!!!.....I know I'm no where close to perfect and stick my foot, leg, and even a butt cheek in my mouth sometimes.... Cheesy.. Grin...

I have no problem owning up to my mistakes....sorry if that apology didn't meet your standards.....I probably wouldn't have posted my initial post if I hadn't been high on the shrimp scampi from Red Lobster.....

Oh, let me send you some dramamine...sounds like you may have ridden over a few of those mole hills out there and have altitude sickness??.... cooldude... Cheesy.... Grin....I apologize for this joke in advance....sincerely!!..... cooldude.... Wink... Smiley
