I know not many of you are not full face helmet fans, or helmets fans at all. We just purchased new helmets with some great features on the cheap. Great clear coat finish, ABS, LED lighting, heads up display, navigation...kidding.
I was going no holds barred and trying everything regardless of price to see the difference. We tried Bell, Sedeci, Arai, Shoi. I wanted new and quality with all both safety ratings, not just DOT. I did not want to influence Andreas decision with my views. We both arrived on the same Helmet brand and model. We do not care for Modular. The absolute best fitting most comfortable helmet I put on my head, regardless of price, with all 5 star reviews was the Scorpion EXO 1100. It's got all the features I want, among the best venting system available, comfort fit bladder, quick change outer shield, inner sun shield, adjustable venting and rear spoiler. ECE and DOT certified. I think this helmet actually looks great too. I do not care for communications on a motorcycle and have monkeyed with several brands as most people usually do. I just don't want to talk or listen to someone else while riding, that's why I'm riding, to escape that.
Bottom line, for non full face riders we are very impressed with these and the features. We'll see how I feel when summer rolls around. Lol Grin
I got this one

Andrea got this and LOVES it. I could never get her in a full face before

Not attempting to start a helmet thread, just sayin if someone is in the market for a full face I would look at this closely if it meets your needs.
Motorcycle Superstore was fantastic. I called and they allowed me to order 6 different helmets in different sizes to try and return all the one I didn't want for free, that's right they paid return shipping. Hats off to Motorcycle Superstores customer service cooldude

We went through this painful helmet selection process years ago when we both agreed on the Scorpion EXO-100 half helmet with retractable sunshield. I honestly didn't even think of Scorpion and was focused on high dollar stuff. She said "The only helmet that has fit me and is comfortable is the Scorpion and that's what I want" Well, it turned out that way again. It has the same fiberglass/Kevlar construction as helmets costing 3-4 times that.

Good read and follow up after would be even better.  Sherry and I bought Shoei x2 early this year, Sherry bought  a modular helmet and I bought a full face in Pappy Valk black with red stripes.  They are nice however I am not freaked out nor am I raving about it. Sherry likes the modular feature mainly for cooler days where she goes full face.  So yes please follow up with this, at that price maybe one that does not clash with the 1500 would be in order.  Adding to this I am reading more about the sound difference between smaller and full face with comments of more drone and "trapped sounds" in the full face.  I now have a good collection of full face helmets as I'm sure many have and I see Jack, Nick and others with open helmets and I really want one however it must be the Motocross days keeps me in full face. Saying that, I am really intrigued by the sound canceling helmets that were talked about I believe by Gil and I want to exhaust that option along with your buy and the Shark.   So my report, I do not think i will go Shoei again.

I think this is the coolest thing to hit the market since the beginning of helmets.

That's pretty cool that they sent you all of them like that. I wouldn't have thought of trying that. I'm helmet shopping right now, I just ordered a Schuberth C3 last night. I have a massive pumpkin head, so I need to find a round one, preferably one that isn't 25lbs and a giant sail in a 2xl. The Schuberth seemed to be lighter than the rest and it was 25% off at Canada's Motorcycle. Will give it a try, if it doesn't fit right, I've got a couple more months of winter to find one that fits right.  Might try what you did and order a couple.  The low Canadian dollar prevents me from buying online in the states right now.

Unfortunately here on my part of the Canadian prairies, there aren't any motorcycle shops to try them on locally in the winter, they all bring out the snowmobiling stock for the winter.

You were lucky to find a C3. Revzilla had them 50% off and they sold out quick. Must be a new model coming out.

Yeah, Canada's Motorcycle had them 25% off, but had very few actually in stock. They had one in my size in "Dark Anthracite" which looks like a dark Grey. Hope it fits.

Going from a half helmet/beanie...I used to wear full helmets in my sport bike days, it's going to be a hard transition back to a full with the poorer visibility and less wind. But I think it's the right thing to do.

I'm unlucky enough to live in a massive suburban area where I can ride around all day to multiple shops and try on all kinds of helmets.  Color doesn't matter since they are all higher priced in the shops than I can order on-line.  Once I find the size and style that's right for me, I go home and order one helmet.

I should have followed my own advice on getting two (of about anything I like), since the Scorpion EXO100 was discontinued in favor of the EXO110 which has no zipper-on neck curtain.

That is a great price on those helmets, nice find Doug, glad they worked out for you and Andrea  cooldude

I think most of us have a collection of helmets  Grin

I have 2 Vega half (the ones I usually wear), one Nolan Modular, one HJC IS-33 and one Shoei Neotech modular, I think that is enough for now.

Looks like the helmet I mentioned earlier is gaining some attention.

All 4 helmets will be returned. It's a shame they sure are pretty. Maybe leave them around the house for decorations. We ordered them to size check. Andrea wouldn't were it today, made her feel claustrophobic. I left with it on and returned home for my old lid.  Jeez... it's December and I couldn't stand the heat. I know for sure I wouldn't where it the rest of the year. Thought I'd change my ways Roll Eyes

That is the reason I try to buy mine locally, to make sure of the fit etc.
