Well before everyone gets their panties twisted, the River Ratz ride was a spin off from conversation at the Wed night Hardees ride. No one was intentionally left out of the loop, the problem is we only have a few people to depend on to post a ride?
A group as large as ours will need some kind of structuring to go off well. Sometimes we are meeting folks from across the state in hopes to all meet up at a designated times. So show up ready to ride, fueled up, water and snacks if needed to tie u over. Also the ride may vary in speed depending on road conditions, many of us like to get into it on some roads

and this may be a problem with some that don't ride that way.
We will also need someone bringing up the rear that knows the route we are taking in case of a break down or just loosing some of the group because of traffic, or just falling behind. Then that person can take the lead and get them caught up with the rest of the group, or just meet up at the final destination. I really enjoy the group rides and hope that more will step up and pick destinations to ride to. This also involves calling ahead and making sure that we can be accommodated as well.
There are a lot of lurkers on this board that really don't post but do show up for rides and that's ok, but to be part of a group means participation from all of us if this is going to work. Believe me I have been around the VRCC off and on for over 10 yrs and have seen this very thing happen to a group where eventually with no structure it just falls apart and everyone gets in a small clicks of friends and ride alone.
As U all know, I just want to ride and enjoy the company of like minded good people like yourselves. I have brought in a good bunch of people myself as others have. Most that ride with us stick around, and for good reasons, so let's not let a bunch of miscommunications or lack of participation ruin what we have built over the years......Let's Ride !!

Oh Yeah it's all Billyboys Fault

Speaking of Billyboy, he had a accident this morning and went down. I have spoken to him and he is ok just a bit scuffed up. His bike was driveable, one of our members (Steve) met BB at the scene and drove his bike home for him...Thanks Steve, good man. I am sure BB will chime in later, but were glad he is ok.
