Wizard had an accident up in Michigan. He's with his son now. First and foremost..... he's OK. Lyn-Del called, she's in Houston. He has bumps and bruises and he's having a tough time getting around but he's OK. The Valk on the other hand ...well... it's up in the air still if it's totaled. He's flying back to Houston this Thursday.

Wizard.... we love ya! Thank GOD you're OK!

My understanding from talking to Phyllis was that kickstand came down without him knowing it and he made a left turn.  Turn and kick stand didn't cooperate.

Heal fast, brother.

Heal quickly and completely bro!

Folks, if you get updates, please keep us posted.

He's pretty sore, to say the least.  From what I can gather, he went over the handlebars and through the windshield.  His shins hurt like they dragged over the bars, and he can't find his boots, thinks they may have been lost in the slide over the bars.   Plans are to meet with insurance folks tomorrow.  If they total the bike, we'll buy it back, of course.   Then to arrange to have it shipped home.  Then to rest up a bit and fly home Thursday.

Glad to hear he's ok. What happen?

Apparently his sidestand spring broke, the sidestand dropped down (he doesn't have the safety switch on it).  He leaned left to change lanes, the stand hit the pavement and bounced him to the right.  I think he said he hit the curb and maybe a telephone pole.  I wasn't listening as closely to the words as I was to his voice, trying to figure out how he really was compared to how he said he was.

Bummer!   Wizard glad your going to make it.  I hate hearing stuff like this.  The kickstand thing... My cousin on his VTX had his "bolt" break when he was leaving to come to Frisco for InZane.  So apparently it is something that has happened to more than one so check your spring and bolt and make sure that stinkn switch is working.

I'm just glad to hear you are going to make it and heal up.  Your in my prayers and thoughts.  If there is anything any of us can do let us know I'm willing to chip in any way I can... cooldude

Take care bro....

Sorry about the mishap.  Where did this happen?  I am in Troy ( just north of Detroit) but we have members all over the state who will be glad to help you get things back to normal.  If you need a place to store the wreck or help getting it home, I'm sure folks will step up.  Just let us know how the Misguided can help.

Heal up quick.

Sherry's spring bolt broke on her Valk when we were up in Erwin, TN pre-riding and scouting for the Rune Rally in July. the way the bolt broke, the spring still had a LITTLE tension left in it. Thus, the side stand would try to come down...half way or so....and in some of the left hand corners...it would drop a tiny bit further...and the engine would start cutting on and off from the kill switch. I became a bit frustrated with her....as she kept on riding with her MP3 player and ear buds in.....like it was no big deal. When we stopped for gas, i told her until we got a fix (we got a bungie cord a bit down the road for a temp fix)...she needed to take those silly ear buds out and CONCENTRATE....on riding...until we got the fix. i knew how dangerous things COULD get.

after getting the bungie, i became her "bungie beeach". Every time we stopped, i unbungied her kickstand so she could put it down. Each time we started riding again, i hooked her kickstand up with the bungie. finally, we got it fixed when a friend of Don and Tracy in VA welded us a bolt to work!

Now, i carry a spare kick stand spring bolt on my Valk AT ALL TIMES. you take it for granted, but if that bolt busts.....your kickstand comes down..............and............the results...........they aint good!
