Hey everyone I am considering getting some floorbards and I have a some questions.
Your thoughts and advice are welcome, please give me some.  cooldude

First off I am waiting for a response from a member on a Rattlebars heel-toe shifter, with that being said can I use floorboards and will they work without extra stuff, IE; brackets, lowering kit, etc ?

Also what are your thoughts on a Heel - Toe shifter,  I have only used one about 10 years ago on my Buddies Ultra Classic.

Thanks for your replys,

 Wewa

One hesitation I had about a Valkyrie was the pegs. I got mine used with rattlebars heel-toe shifter already on it.
I finally got a set of Cobra floorboards and they fit perfectly with the Rattlebars shifter.
I don't have any other mods to the boards or the shifter.

I just recently joined the floorboard set this year.  I installed cobras and a heal toe shifter of some brand, not Rattlebars.  I like the set up.

The only change I made was to turn the adjuster nut, on the rear brake master cylinder, to lower the rear brake pedal down some.

I like heel-toe shifters, have Kuryakyn on my 1800 Wing, Rattlebars on '97 valk, and just installed a heel toe on the '99 purchased 5 months ago. Personally, I'm not comfortable with floorboards on our type bikes and prefer the pegs. That said, I do like boards on the forward foot position style of bike.

Plain and simple!  You want quality, buy Cobra floorboards,(Billet aluminum) you want cheap made crap, buy MC Enterprises Floorboards.(Die cast Aluminum) I owned both, in face, on the MC E's the holes were drilled off, and one board had a slant to the outside. Had to shim the board. MC's look cute, but minimal quality.

Also  Kuryakyn  makes some nice looking products and I own many of them, when I buy their products, I choose wisely.  They deal allot in die cast also, I bought a set of highway pegs from them, I chose to modify them, and on the band saw it was like cutting "lead" which if you have ever messed with it is soft. So I assumed if I would have put allot of pressure on them, I may have had an issue. I realize they are not made to do so on them, but sometime on a motorcycle things happen very fast. So safety is important as looks.

Bought a set of kuryakyn wings for the passenger, that should be enough and will also match my highway pegs.
I will wait and see how I like the heel - toe shifter with the kuryakyn pegs I have on already.
If I decide to try the boards then I will heed your advice and look for quality over price, thanks for your input.
