I posted some pic's from there a few years ago. The Mounmount's to the killed in service are very well done. I go by there sometimes up to 4 times a week on my way to Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

I remember stopping there on the way to Cheaha in 08. I distinctively remember the smell of the flowers.

Thanks Joe I appreciate the info...I'll plan to spend a little more time there next time and see the tribute to the fallen soldiers.

Spent a week in software training at Huntsville. You really should take the tour there. We had a dinner/mixer at the museum one night. The shear size of the rockets are amazing. They have a test shuttle there. Not just a mock-up but one they used for testing.

If you come by the rocket and stop in Athens, let us know. There's several of us Valkers in the area. Dave

Tim there is a monument down in your way that I hope to stop and investigate if I have the time on my next trip through Montgomery. I noticed a HUGE confederate flag a few years back right on I-65 just north of the city...I think it was from the daughters of the Confederacy or something like that.

yep. it caused quite a stir a while back. Some minority orgainizations were wanting to FORCE the flag to be taken down. But the flag is on PRIVATE property. So no matter how much they whined....it just kept flying. i'm not 100% sure it's still there....as i don't go by there too often..........it's about 35 miles from me to the West.

That's funny. I'm working down the road from that this week. That's a mockup, but there's a real one (one of the "leftovers" from when Apollo got canned) in the building right next door. One of three in the country, along with Houston and Cape Canaveral.

I took the tour at NASA and have pictures of the Saturn rocket that is now housed in a HUGE building out of the weather. http://s610.photobucket.com/albums/tt185/HayHauler1/GOTF%202009/The Saturn rocket is on the second page starting with the big white horizontal building with a drawing of the rocket on the side. Otherwise...turn off the porno, and please get back to the topic of motorcycles, politics, sports, Hillary Clinton naked...anything but the aforementioned!

I go on rides almost every week. I live near Houston, so back in April, I helped lead the trip to NASA for those who wanted to take the tour and look around. In those pics, you can see some Valk riders in rare form... (F6Banger) Hay Jimmyt
