You can call Bill (Grumpy), but I just ordered a new one and took it to a machine shop.  Not expensive.  Then, when I did the job on bike one, I took bike one's spacer back to the machine shop for bike two.

You can get your OEM spacer machined down. I would recommend checking with your local maw and paw machine shop or a nearby tech school.

This is true.  If you don't want to wait for it, Order one on line or at the dealer, have it machined, I believe the finished dimension you want is 0.625 or 5/8 in.  (some one correct me if I'm wrong).  They aren't that expensive.  That way you have it on hand and can change it at your leisure.

Taken from the posting in ShopTalk,

The 5204/3204 bearing is 20.6mm wide while the 6204 bearing is 14mm wide. In
English measurements, this is a .260” difference. You have to get that removed from the small
end of the space.

Because enough of us had the left rear single row bearing fail (and almost never the double row right bearing) (me too, way the heck out in nowhere), that someone came up with a way to prevent it.

It's been a few years now, and no one has yet reported a modded double row left bearing (with machined spacer) failure.  Mine either.

I waited until I needed a new rear tire, on both bikes.

It is not a complicated machining process.  If Grumpy in not selling them any more, Buy a spare, and take it to a local shop.  I see the dimensions were posted above in reply #7.

Hell, if you were careful you could probably do it with a cut off wheel and grinder.

If your careful and keep it square to the spacer with a little time you can do it with a file.

That'll work too!
