I've been looking into multi-point fuel injection for the Valk and I was wondering if any of you might have an old broken/bad carb laying around that I could use to base my drawings off of. My only requirement is that the slide area be in decent condition as that is the part that I need to take my measurements from.

I'd be happy to pay for shipping or if you're local, I'd be happy to arrange to pick it up.

Thanks!

Multi-point fuel injection. Now that would be sweet! Can't help with the carbs but what an awesome idea! It will be cool to see if you can pull it off!

Icelander, my motor went to an engineer in Kelowna, who also wanted to use it for "playing" with.

The carbs where sold, but I either have the heads, or he does.

I also like the idea of an EFI system on my bike, for reliability and mileage. Would like to follow the postings if you do it. Please keep us informed.

Well...

I've been doing some digging and I'm having a very hard time finding injectors that will fit the slide opening. I haven't given up but with the UK trip and my friend's wedding, I haven't had much time to dig further.

There is an injector that might work from an older Fiat Punto but I can't find a US supplier. Closest I can find is China.

Also, the slide in these carbs are "t" shaped which means I'd need to machine some sort of a plate to fill the gap.

Sorry I haven't been the best at communication lately.

Icelander I have a set of carbs that are still on a "junk" valk. Just need to get them off ....it might be a few weeks before I could get them off.  You would be welcome to them.  Raymond

Here's a site with some injector info. Jeff K has had a EFI system for a long time on his Valkyrie.

I'm considering these. I'm trying to find out the dimensions of the shortest version of the injector body.

I can understand doing your own thing, but wouldn't it just be easier to get a throttle body injected carb, dual, and graph it onto a GW GL1500 intake runners?

Why reinvent the wheel? Use something out there that is easy to get and cheap, from the wrecker. Harder part would be a controller.

That's always an option, but I really like the look of the carbs.

The idea I'm working on would looks pretty close to stock.

It's a long term project. Easy isn't really what I'm looking for.

Besides, I'm a cheapskate. I'd rather build my own thing rather than spend the money for something off the shelf.

Have you been in contact with Steve/Margret (the one with the black beetle bags) from Kelowna? He's an engineer, and likes tinkering with things. He's retired, so has time on his hands (I think).

I gave him my wrecked motor and heads.

I'll check in with him. I've been distracting myself from the project by noodling on how to add a temperature gauge to my bike. I don't like the "splice the radiator hose" method and picked up another t-stat housing. I'm looking at my bike now to see if I can machine another sensor boss into it and keep it looking as stock as possible.

The biggest problem is I can't find a gauge housing to put the 1.5" gauge into. I'm kicking around a few ideas on that as well.

Just to manage expectations:
I'm on a self-inflicted money diet. My wife is starting up a new business and her prior income was our spending money. I've collected a bunch of stuff for about four different bike projects and am now "playing with the toys I've got" for a while till things loosen back up financially. I haven't forgotten about this project, just waiting for a little more cash before I buy injectors. If I happen to find the right set at the wrecking yard then it might resume up faster.
