Okay, I have scoured the forum for bag options and see that OEM or equivalents are very limited.  I am a 90% around the town, day trip rider and 10% road trip / multi day bike event.  On my VTX 1800C the bags were off the bike way more than they were on.  I had a set off  BOSS #36 bags which were amazing (http://www.bossbags.com/vtxclassic1800.html).  Beyond the quality of the bag, being waterproof and locking - what I LOVED about the bags was the mounting system.  When I took the bags off - no visible bracket.  Just locking nipples that look like I blinged out the rear fender support bars.  Pull up to the hotel, quickly detach the bags and carry them in like luggage.  That all leads up to investigating options for mounting the nipples onto the rear fender (imagine may need hidden support structure underneath).  I think this will just look like i tried to bling out the rear fender with studs - also can get black mounting nipples or powder coat them so they disappear against the black fender...   Once my bike arrives I will do some investigating.  Obviously lots of work measuring, clearances, etc.  But it may work.  Please shoot holes in my theory or offer suggestions.

I don't have the bike yet (being shipped).  When i viewed the bike at a near local dealer I didn't focus on fender - although I would have guessed it was plastic.  My thought is drilling through it for the mounting nipples that are connected to some type of solid frame underneath the fender which in turn is connected to something under the fender that would support the weight of fully loaded bags...  May not work - will have a better idea once the bike arrives and I can get eyes on it.

I have been up inside the rear fender, and there is not much to give the support needed for saddlebags.  That is why I made the brackets that I did for my saddlebags.

If you look at the install instructions for the Corbin bags below it will give you a much better idea of what you are up against. There is not much back there to anchor to and the fender will not support a bag.

Honda does offer

Just go into accessories and click on the link and it will show you a  pic of the bags supports.
