Two questions: Does anyonw what the Model number is for a 1999 Valk Interstate...My 97 Standard is a GL1500C,,,So, what is a 99 Valk Interstate? #2: You know the "CRASH BARS' back by the saddlebags ( I don't know what they are really called) they look like engine guards only they are in front of the saddlebags. Will they fit a 1997 Valk GL1500C ( Standard ) ??? I have LEATHERLYKE bags & if the Valk falls over ( Heaven forbid ) there is nothing back there to save them. If anyone knows...please let me know. Thanks.

(1) The Interstate in a GL1500CF
(2) Yes, the saddlebag rails will fit your standard, however not a perfect fit.  The only problem you will encounter is that the rear center piece of the saddlebag rail attaches to the saddlebag mounting hardware which your standard does not have.  I would not recommend the expense of saddlebag rails (if you can find them), if I weren't going to add the saddlebag hardware and hardbags.

GL1500CF, Tommy.

They're actually part of the mounting hardware for the Interstate bags.  I don't think they would match up well to your Leatherlykes.

Honestly, if your standard falls over far enough and hard enough to get your Leatherlyke bags you'll have much bigger issues to worry about.

Thanks to both of you...However, I went to HONDA parts on Dillon Brothers & looked up the 1999 Interstate thanks to finding out that I was looking for a GL1500CF & the two parts that MAY fit are #34 & #40 which are called " STAYS"...part numbers 5173109 & 5173133...Now the question is...Will they fit?  AND will they clear the bags I have on the bike? Those are the questions. I may have to call Steele's Cycle ( Motorcycle Bone Yard ) & see if they can locate some to just look at...a hard task maybe.  It they set low enough & far enough forward & they line up with the bolt holes already on the bike I would do it. I will check it out this coming week-end. Thanks again y'all. IBA 1990 tommy t

Almost impossible for the Tourer rear bag mount-guard to work with the leatherlykes. The Honda bags have notches in the inside of the bag for the tubes of the mounts to clear. The leatherlykes kind of stick under it's two mounts. The bags would stick out 4 inches if you did put bolts in long enough.
