My wonderful wife Gina aka "Letsgo" has been awarded an all expenses vacation for 8 days in lovely Banff AB. We will be staying at the Fairmont Springs Hotel. It includes round trip air but we are going to ride, her organization is going to give us the money instead of tickets. She will be on her F6B and I will be on my Valk so we will be technically flying. Can't wait!!!  Grin

Bad news is it will be during Vahalla  Cry

Beautiful hotel - looks like an old castle. Scenery is awesome. Did a little skiing there back in the day and I'm sure you will enjoy it

Are you considering driving north on the Parkway to Jasper?

If so, there is a Toll. I forget how much we paid, but thinking $10 (Canadian) a bike. You should have any problem with your fuel, that gas station at the halfway point was 1.75x more expensive than any of the other stations.

Drive up to Jasper, and come back towards Hwy 5 and back down to Kamloops. Nice area. Did that back in June 2014.

How much time you taking for this trip?

Hi Gordon
We are taking at least an extra week. Our plan is to take hwy 3 across through Cranbrook and up to Banff up through Radium hotsprings. When we leave we are going up through Jasper then down to Cache Creek and eventually over to Whistler and down to Vancouver and home. Definitely going to make lots of side loops along the way. It is going to be AWESOME!!!!

 John

You might want to look in to the Destinations Highways BC book. It has the best motorcycle roads in BC. Well worth the investment

John,
Dusty makes a good point. The number one motorcycle road in BC runs north from Creston up to Ainsworth Hot springs. The book will give you a good idea of what roads to try and take in while making your way up to Banff. You're going to see some amazing country!!

John,
The link below has an interactive map that shows the best mororcycle riding roads in BC. Check it out to see how many break off of Hwy #3. It will be hard to decide where and when to head north but then planning a good route is part of the fun!!

Check out this video........ I love where I live!! https://youtu.be/ThFCg0tBDck

The highway you see in it many times is the Highwood Pass (Hwy 40) thru Kananaskis. A must ride for you guys and If I'm here, I would be glad to ride it with you or if you have any questions feel free to make contact and maybe I can answer them for you!

John, one think we didn't ask. When is/was this trip? Weather might have something to do with it.

See you at Valhalla?
