Got up about 6:30 this morning and thermometer read -11.  If my memory is correct, that's the coldest temperature I think I've ever recorded at this house.  How about some of you other guys, including the guys up North?  How cold was it?

That's almost cold enough to have to put on a sweater.  Grin

It's -7C(-19F) here. If I could have this temp every Feb, I'd take it.

We've had a ridiculously warm winter, only been below 30C(-22F) for a week or so, haven't hit -40 C/F once this winter and normally do several times. . Haven't even had a snow big enough to shovel yet, just a bunch of light ones. Normally by this time of year, we're running out of places to put it.

There were even a few crazies who took their bikes out for a New Year's Day ride, the streets are all clean here.

Loving this weather, going ice fishing today.

Edit: sorry, just realized this was in the New England chapter and not General...so you probably meant "up North" in New England, not far up north.  Grin

Our thermometer showed -12 this morning, didn't keep watch to see if it dropped any lower or not.
We have had temps dip lower before, just not this year.

We missed out on 12 to 20 inches of snow yesterday by probably 5 miles, as the crow flies.
Stonington, Vinalhaven, North Haven, Blue Hill were the lucky recipients this time.
Temps predicted to be in the upper 40's Tuesday with ran.....go figure this Maine weather !!!
Last year we were up to our nipples in snow  coolsmiley

Hey Beardo, in my last job I worked for a power company that was headquartered in Edmonton.  Although my office location was in Boston, I made many trips to Edmonton, including in February.  I agree that it gets mighty cold up there, but it's a very dry cold (at least in Alberta).  A 20F day in Boston, which has got more humidity in the air feels colder and more miserable that a minus 15F in Edmonton.  When we had visitors from Edmonton to Boston during the winter, they were a bit shocked at how cold it felt.  The dampness gets into your bones.

Drop by the New England board anytime.   Grin

I had -7 when I left for breakfast at 8am and all was OK at home, BUT when I got home around noon I found the kitchen sink had no water. Funny it was OK at 8am but the hot water line froze sometime between 8 and noon...It's about 4pm and I'm still dealing with it but getting a few drops now so it shouldn't be long now.......I HOPE

Yeah, I've heard the same thing about our "dry cold".  And you guys tend to get the massive dumps of heavy wet snow more than us. We just have 6 months of constant misery...you guys get it in bunches.

I spent the day snowboarding.  Temp at Wachusett Mt.  started out at -17 and got up to O by 2 PM when I left.  Had the slopes to myself and a few other regulars.

Luckily only one pipe for the Kitchen sink froze. I real bad design and an issue that I remember every winter but forget when the weather is warn enough to get out there and do something about.

Maybe global warming will help me out with that... ha ha ha
