Went to start her up for a winter warm up.  Heard some small pop right side cover everything is dead.  Battery is fine no blown fuses I could find.  Any ideas?

There is a main fuze in a covered holder. Looks like a metal strap, and feeds elec. to the entire bike. Unless the main ground is bad, almost has to be the problem.  cooldude

If no fuse problem check the starter relay switch. Known to get dirty and melt, if there is a loose or bad electrical connection it will make a popping sound.

Get a 12 volt test light and start at the battery trace the battery wire and you will find where your power loss is.

There are 2 main fuses.  One is inside a tall narrow black cover under the right side cover.  That is a bare metal strip fuse.  The other main fuse is a 30 amp fuse.  That one is on the top of the starter relay and can only be found by unpluging the wire harness from the top of the relay.  This plug should be checked occasionaly anyway to be sure it is clean and not corroded.  A small dab of dialectic grease applied here on reassembly helps to keep the electrical gremlins away.  This connection sometimes gets corroded and then melts everything around it.

unless the engine gets to operating temperature, some say 5-10 minutes (and letting an engine idle that long can cause excessive camshaft wear) and re-topping the tank, less exposed for flash rusting, doing more harm than good.
