Hello all
I just did timing belts and plugs on my new (to me)
01 Interstate. What is secret to getting this damn beautiful radiator cap off so I can finish this before dark and get a short ride in??? I'm pretty good but stumped!! Thanks in advance

Look around back or the sides for the tiny set screw (use a tiny allen wrench).

Loosening it makes things much easier.  

Resist using the channel locks.   Grin

Well you would have felt a lot worse it you torqued it off and damaged the radiator. I've done much stupider stuff than that.  Smiley

YUP!!!  I bought my bike new, and switched out the rad cap. I seen the set screw setup on there and think it is a sweet idea on their part......

But if you buy a used bike......and that cap is on there, I can see.....WTF is going on here!!!

Been there done that.  Embarrassed In all reality, who in the hell would think of looking for a ss on a radiator cap let alone engineering it into a design? No one but Honda I guess.  Roll Eyes
