Speedometer question
«

The Valkyrie that I bought last summer is originally from NY, but I live in Canada. The Mph speedometer is a bit distracting and I can get speeding tickets without the extra help. Is there any way to replace just the background of the speedometer? The odometer in miles is not an issue. I thought about picking one up off of ebay until I realized that they go for $300 US. Is there even a way to get the backing out or am I going after a lost cause? I see it doesn't have a separate part number, so that isn't a great sign.

I don't know the answer, but the poor man's approach would be to do the math and put Kilometer benchmarks on the face of the speedo. Like the most important, most used speed limits. In something bright and visible like bright green thin strips of tape?
Another idea would be to wire in one of those programmable yellow boxes, or speedo healers, only use it to convert Mph to Kph.

I spend a lot of time looking in ebay for deals. If it is this big of an issue for you, then keep looking till you find one at a reasonable price.
But having grown up with MPG, but needing KMH now, I have no problem remembering the few points I need to remember to drive safe. Also a lot of trips down to the US.
Easiest way would be to stay in the slow lane and just follow the guy in front of you. You aren't in a hurry are you???
