I took my bike down on Superbowl Sunday this year. I got sick and finally got healthy this week (mostly).
This set of work is done (more to come), and the beast is a banshee now. I thought this beast was screamin before I worked on it....

Work completed:
  • remove, disassemble and clean carbs in ultrasonic bath
  • rejet all carbs (idle and main)
  • replaced all float needles
  • found a vac leak on EVERY carb at the base of the intake runners (bad orings)
  • carb balance (thanks again, BonS). All carbs numbers now change at the same time.
  • remove broken CB radio and wiring and antennae
  • partial desmog
  • adjusted valves to spec
  • coolant change from old rust to new green

Still need to complete:
  • adjust idle pilot screw
  • finish desmog (pair valves already removed, just need to remove pipes and block off ports)
  • service controls
  • rear end service
  • rewire driving lights
  • move choke controls off the handlebars
  • move Neutral / Turn / High Beam indicators off headlight housing
  • replace headlight housing with VTX style housing
  • change all lighting to LED
  • build or machine new LED turn signal indicators to replace lollipops on front

it only gets better...  cooldude
