Ayear or so ago somebody had a proceedure for DIY seal replacment. I've been looking for it and can't find it . I have a 01 interstate and both tubes have blown seals. I have new progressive springs to install also. Any help out there?

I don't know about DIY instructions, but the Honda service manual is,  IMHO, the best.

Found this.

The VTX 1800 forks are the same as a valk. Just a bit longer. The rebuild is identical.

Really good set of videos on seal and bushing job on our bikes Hook,, nice find.  Where he found the deformation from a clamp on the first tube really got me to thinking. With all the clamps I have put on mine, I almost feel the need to disassemble and take a look,,,,,,, almost.  Those tubes may not be as heavy as I was thinking,,

              something to keep in mind when mounting things on the fork tubes.

I wrote instructions on how I did mine.  I didn't mess with the springs, there are Progressive springs in there.  I should of taken them out.  I'm one of those who hate them.  One of these days I'm putting the OEM springs back in.
