Just wondering if anyone has figured out a way to instal "feelers" on a Valk. I'm a new Valk rider and would like to have a warning before something else drags if I lean too far. Something that throws out sparks might be cool...

Yep, they are called foot pegs, they give out sparks, make a noise and fold up when dragging  |

Unless you have poorly mounted Hwy pegs, the driver's pegs or boards will drag before anything else (boards a hair sooner than pegs). Both will bounce up a bit on contact (as will your foot), but no danger, and you get used to it. Those are your feelers. (Both my Cobra floorboards are ground at 45* on the outer/underneath edge)

the bottom of the stock pegs out near the edge have replaceable drag buttons. |

When my wife rides on the back I usually get a high-pitched squealing noise right before anything drags... I get that same squeal, but only when my wife is on too........................................... I'm seeing a pattern here. |

I'm on set number 7 or 8 with my pegs on this bike . I've never hit the engine guard that I know of but my ridin' bud Lucky 13 has. If you love the twisties the pegs are going to catch hell it's just that simple with a bike like the Valkyrie.  |

Maybe Pep Boys still sells the curb feelers. You could mount them onto the engine guards and bend them to scrape before the pegs. Get ready for giggles on bike night though.

LOL!  Thanks for the replies...My internet service has been down all day or I would have replied sooner. Knowing that my foot pegs will let me know/scrape first gives me some peace of mind. |

I only get the fingers in the ribs after the pegs drag. I keep telling Rachel, that I think that is like kicking a horse to make it go faster No feelers are necessary. You can feel it in your butt and feet... |

[/quote] When QD and I first got married, I went a bit too fast for her one day.......she too gave me that "claw on the love handles" move.....the problem was, since she has no fear of anything, I interpreted the signal as: "OK, holding on now...cleared hot" Well, the "claw" soon was replaced with a HARD pinch (which did leave a mark) I learned a hand signal that day |
