Okay, let me start off with saying the following is tentative! No promises yet, just progress.

Some of you already know, but adding additional turn signals and brake lights to our bikes can be problematic. Problematic as in it won't work. The reason, I suspect, is that the LEDS on our bikes  run off a pulse modulation systemy to get their signal. The rear lights receive a constant 12 volts, but require a specific signal to actually light up.

Now, all that being said, I managed to get an after market light kit with a special LED harness to work like a champion on the Valkyrie. It can read the signal wire post ecu and the led controller matches the stock LEDS so closely it is barely noticeable that the timing is nanoseconds off.

I've spoken with the makers of the kit I installed, Admore Lighting, and they are going to attempt to make me a turn signal only prototype that will light any 12 volt LEDS and bulb within reason. Basically, a universal harness for a universal turn signal set, aka the Socal driving light or turn signal mirrors.

If their prototype works, they will build more for everyone else (thinks about $50 per harness but can't confirm until built/tested). This kit would also work for other all LEDS only bikes like the new FJR, as long as the makers don't go too crazy with their pulse modulation.

Remember, this isn't a promise or guarantee the harness will work... but if it does who would want one?

The idea is it should light up any standard 12 volt LEDS setup. License plate and fender turn signal kits should be fine. I'll test the harness once it arrives and let everyone know. I kind of wish I had a set of Socal lights now to test those too!

Want the money up front? Gladly I will take a unit!

Thanks for following up on this matter. Is there any idea how many sets of lights this might handle? After we talked on Sat. I gave the idea of putting some lights in the radiator cowls as you mentioned.

Tenativly, we spoke about handling 5 amps worth of lighting. They are going to give me the exact specifications when the unit is sent to me. Standard strip lighting uses .3 amps per 3 leds... so that would be something like 24 leds per side if each side can take 2.5 amps. If both sides can take 5 amps then the sky is pretty much the limit. I'm sure you would be able to run your Socal lights and a bit more from their harness, but we shall have to wait and see what they send me.

Admore asked for a copy of the wiring diagram and pictures of how I installed it. They want to make it as easy of an install as possible and want to write some directions to help. That is very promising news!

I have been contacted by Admore and they said they should have a harness out to me by the end of the week! Keep your fingers crossed.

The prototype has been completed and is on its way to me! Install and testing should be done next week. Admore said that production retail price will be $50. They will accept orders once I install the harness and confirm it works as requested.

Almost there folks!

Once I confirm it works, I shall make sure everyone gets the detailed write-up. I'll probably close out my Adventures in Valkyrie Wiring thread with this install and test. After that I'll inform Admore Lighting. They should open up the retails sales after that.

I'll probably cross reference the harness over to the "other" forum too. I haven't been that active over there, but they should enjoy getting in on the fun, too. The bike is two years old after all. It is about time we had some sort of breakthrough.

Okay, so I'll start with this. IT WORKS! The additional turn signals flash in time with the bike's stock signals.

Now the catch. The harness applies 5 Volts to the lights as running lights. For anyone wishing to install turn signals with a running light feature, this is great news! Sadly, I'm not sure I want running lights on the SIDE of my bike in the radiator area. I'm trying to decide, the effect is cool enough, but not what I was looking for to start with. 12 volt only lights won't be effected because they won't turn until 12v, but LED strips, like the kind I'm using, will turn on at a dimmer setting with 5 volts.
I've contacted Admore to ask if there is a way to turn the 5 volts OFF. If possible, it would be up to the user to decide what they want.

I'm uploading 2 videos to YouTube now that explains what I mean. Overall, I'm going to call this endeavor a successful one. There is now a way to install additional working lights on our bikes. Install write up to follow after the videos and photos upload.

What is the expected release date for the module?
Sounds like it will work perfectly for the SOCAL lights. Thanks for all your efforts and the great write-ups.

I spoke with Admore and they will start accepting orders now. You will have to email them and request the Honda Valkyrie wiring harness. They will paypal invoice you. They will build the harness upon payment and ship it to you!

I did tell them they will need to update the instructions with an LED only warning and amp limits. This harness will be for LEDs only. Incandescent will pull too much power and blow the controller. I also recommend the purchase of the posi-tap connectors. It makes installation a breeze.

If I understand what you are saying about the new controller/harness is that once the amber leds on the SoCal light stop blinking during a turn signal .... that they will then continue to stay on in a constant mode as running lights.  If this is the case, that would mean that the SoCal lights if wired up the way they are designed will have both the white 6000k running lights constantly on "And" the amber/yellow turn signal leds also constantly on after you turn the turn signal off???  Not sure if that will happen but I would not like to have both the white and amber LEDs both constantly on as running lights with the SoCal setup.  I am not an electrical technician so I may be worrying for no reason ... just wondering if that could happen. ???

Stand asked me the same thing. I just don't know because I don't have the Socal lights (I have the ShowChrome) setup. I would need a set of lights to test it out. I sent a message to Socal telling them what I've done. Maybe they will help me out and give me some info or a set of lights to test (unlikely).

I assume the orange part of the SoCals come on when it receives 12 volts. There is various evidence to support my assumption but I can't be 100% sure without actual testing. I've asked Admore if they can make a 12 volt only harness, no 5 volt running lights. They are looking into their control boards to see what they can develop.

SoCal replied to my questions. I'm hoping for some technical answers soon. They did offer to reimburse me for a set of lights if the harness works and it helps them sell more lights to riders, but I already have the ShowChrome lights. Not really sure I want to spend more money on MORE foglights right now.

I bought an Admore harness for their saddlebag lights, it used the 5v constant also, I attached it to the SOCAL lights and the Orange LED's remained off until I wired them direct to 12v and they worked.
Based on that scenario, I believe this new solution will work.

Anyway, I will be able to verify that soon as I have ordered the new harness today and will install it as soon as it arrives and will let you know the results.

I know you have been chomping at the bit for this Stanc, so I hope you get a break on this one. I'm pretty sure they will work with this harness, make sure you don't install the red brake wire! That wire is for people installing rear lights and want them to be brake/turn signals.

Being the nosey one here.... what are you using for lighting up your radiator?  I have been looking at pods but thinking that it will not have the same effect as yours.

I do love those SoCal fog lights, but I already installed some LED fog lights, and they work good.  One of the reasons I didn't go with the SoCal is the price, and also that they couldn't get the signal lights working.  Not sure how much the Admore harness is, but it also increases the cost.  Mine only cost a total of $40, but the SoCal lights do look sooooo much nicer.  Who knows, maybe next year if our crappy Canadian dollar is doing better I may spring for a set, and a harness.  I am always looking to spend money on our bikes.   2funny 2funny 2funny

I have the new 12 volt only harness in my hand, but I don't have a garage to work in while I'm staying in Daytona! I'm not sure how the hotel would handle me working on my bike in the parking lot.

More to come when I get the time (and place) to do some work.

Almost 1000 miles and the Admore turn signal kit is working like a champ. The led strip lighting has held up against the radiator heat as well. The rear signal harness has also survived over 4500 miles between two installs on two bikes.

I'd say the test run phase is over! All we need now is someone to take the plunge on a SoCal driving light setup and this kit.

I am glad to hear that the LED strips in the rad area has held up.  cooldude I like the look of it on your bike, and I want to do similar to mine.  Mainly, to be seen.  The other thing I need to do is set up more lighting in the back.  Honda didn't give us much lighting back there.

I just picked up a Sena 10c and a 10s. Excellent Bluetooth units. SoCal offered to reimburse me the cost of lights if the harness works and they sell some units because of it. I just don't want to remove my showchrome lights when they work so well!
