Need all your help.  Let me review problem.  About 2 weeks ago about 50 miles into ride bike started running rough like it was running out of fuel.  Was with in 1 mile of an exit so we got off and fueled up only took 4 gallons.  Started up and went on our way. Bike ran normal.  Road an additional 300 miles that day with no other occurance.
The next day we were about 80 miles into a ride same thing happened (started with a full tank) but this time it ran much worse and we were about 4 to 5 miles from an exit.  The bike would only go about 35 mph with the trottle wide open, could smell unburnt fuel (felt like it was running on 2 cylinders).  Was able to make it to the exit and it stalled at the stop sign.  Was able to get it started and got into a small town, goal was to make it about 4 more miles to a relatives house.  About a mile from the exit it started running on all cylinders and we made it to the relatives and back home.(95 miles) and it ran normal the whole way.
After not riding for 2 weeks was going on a ride with a friend yesteday and about 20 miles into the ride it started missing again.  Got off the highway (friend said he smelled unburnt fuel) and turned around to nurse it home.  About a mile later it all cylinders began to fire and ran fine for another 15 miles then acted up again.
Went out this morning and installed new plugs.  All old plugs appeared fine.  No visible cracks, carbon wiskers, etc.  Bike started right up and ran fine.  Got out of town about a mile and it started to act up.  This time I barely made it back to the house.  Help.

Well, Id say you either have  severe vacuum leak in the line going from #6 intake to the petcock, or you have a bad petcock.  I would say you could have a kinked vent line at the rear of the tank, but since it recovered and rode fine for so long its doubtful unless its a rubber fatigue issue with the vent line and it collapses (kinks) only when it gets hot (that collapsing thing can happen to the #6 line as well).

If youre vacuum lines are new or verified good and you have a stock petcock.....Id suspect the petcock and recommend a pingel to replace it

Beginning of august I installed the redeye vac line and quick connect kit.  I also rebuilt petcock.  No issues the whole month of august.  I was thinking the same thing you mentioned and I checked out everything when I got it home this morning and everything looked ok.  I was curious and pulled 3 of the carb bowl drains and the carbs were full of fuel.  I tried to start it and no sign of firing or wanting to start now.

you still have a fuel issue, and i still suspect the POS OEM petcock.  In addition you may have just ran the battery down....try jumping from a car (car NOT running) to rule out an electrical issue

I will double check all the fuel related items.  The battery is strong and turns the bike over nice and fast.

nice and fast........thats exactly how a weak battery turns the valk over with no spark....jump it to a car (car battery off)

Just got done removing the fuel tank and found that the Redeye quik connect kits hoses were kinked where they attach to the petcock and to the female connector.  I removed this assembly and installed the fuel line as per the factory and she started up and runs great.  I sent an email to Rich at redeye making him aware of what I feel is a design flaw.
Thanks for everyones help.
