EZRider arrived to my drive Safe BUT I think his Clutch is OUT. Will Not Move Forward & when he attempts to let the Clutch out, it's making a terrible noise. Clutch has over 100,000 miles on it. Dilemma, Honda Dealers are Closed on Mondays & they ALL want an appointment. Anyone KNOW Anyone who can Diagnose & or Fix his Valk in Central Indiana? GOF Awaits

Usually the rivets in the dampner plate go and the clutch still works somewhat.

Have you considered it might be the pinion cup gears?

Check out the video linked to below to hear what a bad pinion cup to drive shaft joint sounds like.

FYI, that was T-man403's video of before he repaired ALI for DDT.
This was the cause (again, T-man403's pictures):

can you pin down more accurately where the terrible noise is located?  maybe use a hose or something to listen and nail down if it's coming from the clutch or as suggested further down the drive train.

My IS made the same noise and acted the same when the pinion cup wore out.

Any updates?

Original poster double posted to the Main & Tech board.  His only response was on the Main board.

I believe the issue is the drive spline and pinion cup, but he hasn't confirmed anything, yet.

Inquiring minds need to know, what did the dealer charge for that?

I don't understand why anyone else needs to know. That's a business deal between EZ and his dealer. Besides, he hasn't picked it up yet, I'm taking him to get it later today after it gets above 30*.

ron called last night and told me it was the drivetrain and that blew me away.  cause after ron and the Honda shop telling me that they had just serviced it two week before the problem and that everthing was good.  I ruled out the drivetrain problems.  just goes to show they did nothing to rons bike but charge him a bunch of money for nothing.  had been me they would have done it for nothing or they would have been talking to the lawyers.  after I bet the crap out of some one.

Don't NEED to know.  Also don't understand why it's a secret.

Maybe some would like to know what a dealer gets for that work.

Isn't that what we do here?  Trade info and experiences.

Sorry for EZ Riders troubles.  Glad he got it straightened out.
