I filled out the weldup form for Custom Metal Spinning and was quoted a price of $695 to widen out to 5.5 or 6 inches from the stock 3.5 for a possible fitment of a 200 series for the front

My only question would be....WHY?  Over the years, I've ridden some bikes with really wide front tires and to me they steered like a truck in comparison. One owner had gone through all kinds of expense to adapt a wider set of forks for the sole purpose of using a wider rim & tire. After about 6 mo. of wrestling with it, that owner went back to stock width. Personally, I wouldn't think it's worth the money just for the looks but.....your bike, your money.  cooldude

Well...in the bicycle world, some of us have built frame/fork/wheel combos that allow running a rear wheel (complete w/ freehub and cassette or fixed cog) up front. This so that if your hub won't engage - say, in extremely cold weather - you simply swap the wheels end-for-end and continue on your way.

In the context of the Valkyrie, I can see someone imitating Russell Mitchell's (Exile Cycles) "Fat Bloke":

Upon further review, there is not the room to do what I want so I will have to be happy with the 170/60-17 on it right now....

if u want a bigger fat front tire, u most likely will have to go with wider triple clamps and maybe different forks.
the look u want like in the pic posted would look great IMO.  coolsmiley
I like that old skool look with front and back tires the same size.  Cool
