I managed to destroy my bike.  Not a scratch on me.  My dealer tells me they can still order new 2014 models.  I am looking for pricing advice.  What is the market price for a new 2014 GL1800C Valkyrie with ABS?

Thanks,

Brad

I got mine for $13.2K, other members have reported better pricing than that, all dealer dependent. I was given a free luggage rack as well. Once I paid for the extra warranty, tax, and dealer fees I was a little over $15K.

This was all back in November.

Honda is still giving $ 3000.00 bonus bucks to buyers of 2014 Valkyrie. Only $1000.00 on the 2015 models.
There are dealers out there that paid for them long ago, already got the hold back money  from Honda  and want to get rid of them. Find one of them.
I paid $14997 and Got the $3000 from Honda so might as well call it $12,000
One month ago in Columbus Ohio.  Bike had not been started or ridden yet.  They put fluids in it the day I test rode it.

I looked a few weeks ago and found no cheap ones on eBay, but
saw numerous $12,000 or so ones on the local craigslist at dealers...

Check your local craigslist...

My 16th is when we picked her up, so almost one year now, I did a lot of shopping and pitting three dealers against each other and bought a NON ABS black Valk for $10.998 They gave me great discounts on all extras (around $1200 of extras if full retail) and normal but reasonable fees.

Mine was not an ABS bike.  Not sure how I feel about ABS on a motorcycle.  Can't hurt I guess??
I missed that in the original post.

I bought my black ABS model last April for $16.5K up here in Canada.  That is about 12K US these days.
I know the dealer in Ottawa has three 2014 valks still for sale.  Maybe buy one from up here.

Thanks guys.  Wow, I paid more for my bike.  I am now working with the insurance company.  I kind of have them by the balls because I named all the extras I put on the bike on the policy and the policy provides for a one year newer bike.  That might be moot since there are a ton of new 2014 models out there.

Gravel got me in a turn.  Went into a culvert that was soft grass and mud.  A broken down coiled up barb wire fence got me.  The bike cart wheeled and tossed me.  I wear protection that a racer would wear and walk away without a scratch.  Still damn lucky.

Good to hear!  I wear allot more protective gear these days as well man.  If you get another new Valk...replace the crap stock tires...you might not have lost it in the gravel if you had some Michelins on there! Grin

Don't feel to bad..I mean hindsight being 20/20 and all...You STILL got a good deal on a bike of it's class.  They will soon be gone..and then the value will start to rise in the used market.

Typical American scam , start with an extremely  high price , then heavily  discount it so the public feels like they got a great deal  , when  really  that discounted price was what they were shooting for all along .

All stores do this , department stores are the worst at it

And we all fall for it , too

Three 2014 models in Florida going between $10,900 - $12,000 I've been eyeballing them.
These were used low miles, non molested OEM

Many other 2014 at stealers as high as $17,000 Shocked

Yeah ,   that price is to get your attention ,  they add set up , doc fee and other BS  stuff that drives the price up ,  that's how they trick you into  calling them in the first place , the low low price

Smart

Here's what I'd be looking at

Kidd, you definitely are a person of the "glass is half empty" group! So you're saying that you're naive and gullible?
The standard Goldwing goes for ~$24,000, the F6B goes for ~$21,000, the F6C has the identical engine/transmission and asking retail is $17,999. The extra storage space on the more expensive bikes are not worth $3000-$6000 more IMO. I paid $11,000 in May, 2015 and I'm extremely happy. I believe the price suffered because the original Valkyrie crowd didn't like the looks of the revived bike.

« Reply #34 on: April 09, 2016, 05:33:04 AM »

In France, the Goldwing with airbag is 38,500 $, the F6B is 27,000 $, F6C is 24,700 €.

I bought mine 19,000 $, demo with 1000 km on the clock and I felt so lucky ! I swapped my weak CTX 1300 (nice looking, rarely seen, little 85 HP, indecent shock absorbers) for it. The CTX 1300 is not sold in France anymore since last year, the F6C this year.

I think that it's not a problem to buy a demo Valk because everybody's impressed at first by the size, the weight and don't intend to experience the limits of the bike.

All Valks here have ABS standard and usually I'm a convinced fan (=you don't have to worry on wet roads). But to tell the truth, with 24,200 mls on the clock, I never used the ABS (on the front brakes at least). I never used the ABS neither on my KTM 990 SMT.  Kiss Kiss
On my BMW R1100R, there was no ABS and the bike was dangerous on wet roads. That's why I think that ABS is not a must on the Valk, considering that the bike is well balanced and that you don't ride it as hard and fast as you may with other bikes. Who has experienced riding a non ABS BMW S1000 RR will agree !  crazy2

That is what I paid and the bike is worth every penny of that, if not more (regardless of the discussion of MSRP).  I may sound strange saying this, but arguing for the final bit of dollars sometimes simply isn't worth the aggravation and only delays you from using and enjoying the item instead.  $11,000.is about the best deals that are commonly out there, just take it and ride on into the sunset on this spectacular machine.   I think the best thing I've done in the past few years was buy the Valkyrie, my riding enjoyment (with the exception of the seat) has gone up immensely and I am glad I acted when I did.

I totally agree.  I paid like a bit over 12G out the door...(not much)...and at that it was a good bargain...especially when you see other bikes of the same class..(displacement) and guess what...there really is no other bike like it!  Man the more you ride the bike...conduct a few tweaks here and there (still not done)...learn how it handles, how the power works with the gearing, brakes, etc..it is one of the best bikes I have ever ridden...  I love being faster then *most* things on the road...  Just crack the throttle especially in like 4th gear at 60 or so..and you are WAY past it...Or near a dead stop...1st, drop into second...one crank f the throttle and you've passed two cars already...without even touching 3rd gear. Love it.

I paid way too much for mine, but that was almost two years ago now, the pain
has somewhat faded...

Setting up my bike is in the past:

Figuring out how to jack my bike is in the past:

I wish I was richer, but what the heck, the screwing around is mostly over
and there's nothing left to do but wear out tires... maybe there won't be
any more new ones to be had before long... $10k or $11k is a pretty good
price for a (stripped down) Goldwing  cooldude
