Hi group!    Tomorrow I will be traveling to Dauphin Island to enter my bike (1999 Valkyrie) to show it in a somewhat local (MS,AL,FL, GA) motorcycle show. There are several classes, two of which seems to fit my bike. The American Cruiser, and the Metric Cruiser. Which class should I use?
Last year this bike was entered in the metric cruiser c!ass. Now, I know my bike is no beauty queen, but the show is for a good cause and I really have no expectations of winning anything. You know, it is all about the ride anyway. One hundred and eight miles one way from my house.
Thoughts?

I believe in this context, the Valk would be a Metric Cruiser,  even though it was made in Ohio...

The division language basically references "Harley/Indian "  as American and "every other foreign company"  as metric.

Good luck with the show, and remember theirs also usually a people's choice award too.

The weather was perfect, food was good, music as well. Good turnout of bikes. Over $3500 was raised for the PTO.
Who needs a "class"? cooldude

If your 99 has the made in America (USA) on the engine , then enter it as such. It is always  fun to mess with  the  twinkies. Unless we get some different customers at the bike  shop ,  I do not   get  many comments about the Valk.
  Congrats ,  keep showing .

Hukmut, you have got to post a pic here.
It's not fair if the folks at the show get to see it, but not us.

I know that it does not have the "Made in USA" stamped onto the engine case. Undecided HOWEVER,   it WAS assembled in Wiggins,MS. Took me 9 months of acquiring the parts and fitting them at least 3 times before I knew they were gonna work properly. Yeah, sure, I know, could a just BOUGHT me an already built Valkyrie, but you know and I know that there is  certain kind of satisfaction that comes from "doing it yourself". uglystupid2   Nuthin' like riding a collection of parts that you assembled down the road .  And, the best part, I could NOT have done it without this great bunch of guys on this forum.
AND,  I got to meet these folks on my test ride from Wiggins to  Spearfish. Cheesy
